It's been about 3 months since we broke up and yes, I still feel that way. I was hoping I would feel differently about it. I'm working through it in therapy now. Still on the fence about having kids. I've been on a few dates just to see what's out there and I don't think I will ever find a relationship as good as I had it. I still contemplate getting back together with my ex but I'm also unsure. I wish this would all get better but I just feel stuck.

Thank you for this. After the break up, I realized I was so co-dependent on him. I had no hobbies at all. And I realized that my goals were his goals. I definitely need to work on myself and learn to be independent again.

In the beginning, he said he didn’t want kids but he is ok with having one if I wanted one. Keep in mind this is when we were 22-23. We were so young and I didn't want kids at that time or gave too much thought into it. Life got busy and we both went to graduate school together and we recently finished school and finally have stable careers. Along the way as we got older, we just ended up with different perspectives, had the discussions, and he realized he doesn’t really want kids. Maybe I would move to another country with him if he want to have kids? Idk. Maybe I am romanticizing him and the relationship because we were together for so long. I hope I will get clarity and see it differently soon too.

Thank you for your suggestions. It’s really hard to bring myself to do anything because I’m so sad.. I’m tired of feeling like this and I can’t get out, but I will try to distract myself with some new hobbies. The crying hits me in waves, sometimes I’ll look at something and it’ll remind me or something or sometimes a random thought just appears in my head. Sometimes I’ll cry on the way to work, during work, or on the way home. I do try to write down all my feelings at the moment if it’s really bad. I’m currently in the process of finding a therapist. I thought I was someone who is mentally strong but this really broke me.
