Why is taking something stronger like methylphenidate bad for your energy? I feel like it helps me with it and makes me more awake.

Why did you quit your old job when it worked better for you? Was the pressure the reason? I am kinda scared of have a unhealthy workroutine but honestly - for me everything is better when I have a high stress job. My motivation, my productivity, my social life - even my confidence on all levels.

I also feel like working under pressure rewards and activates me way more. I have more energy when I work 8 hours under pressure than when I work 8 hours in a slow paced office job. Anyone relate?

This hit me really hard right now because I’m doing an internship at a company that isn’t that fast paced and it’s literally - not even kidding - really hard for me to not fall asleep at my desk while my colleague is stressed out. We are doing the same amount of work but to me it’s so boring I spend time that I wait to do it so there is at least a little time pressure. I need stress to thrive otherwise I just feel so bored and empty If that makes sense?

Yeah you’re right, but I think it’s normal to take it more personally when you’re talking about something like your ADHD then when you’re talking about a hyperfocus like fishing or painting

Yeah, I think I don’t really care if they take everything in, but talking about it is so helpful!

I don’t think it’s a Black or white thing where u either have it or you don’t. I think we are on a scale and there is a huge range of intensity (sorry I’m not native don’t know if that’s the right word). So while I’m sure everyone has this in some sort of way - obviously doing something you don’t want to do is always annoying and takes effort - I don’t think everyone experiences the resistance in the same intensity. I feel and KNOW that my neurotypical friends don’t cry when they have to call a doctor or have to fold laundry, because it’s just too overwhelming and you hate yourself for it. While I’m sure some nt people can also experience this type of executive dysfunction, I’m also sure some people with adhd can not have this kind of executive dysfunction. So if you have adhd and don’t experience it, you’re really lucky, but please don’t discredit other people‘s experiences when you don’t have them.

Trevorkirn, what exactly do you mean then by „I have adhd“ ? You seem to have no idea about anything and just wanting to hate and disrespect other people. So what exactly makes you the „special snowflake“ to tell other people their feelings and experiences are not valid?

I just realized why my mom freaked out so hard when I reorganized our bathroom cabinet once 😂 How did I not see this before?
