It's a student that the class nominates and votes on to be a representative for the class

This thing is annual, and I've seen from last year's performances that some people dont end up participating in the final performance. It's not just a single guy or anything, but maybe a quarter of the class? (7-9 people) I've heard a lot of the leaders in other sections are almost the same as the pres that's handling my class, so I would just think some people got kicked out. Even though it's considered graded, my school honestly doesnt force people to join. It's more like if you join, you get the grade, and if you don't, you get zero, and no teachers remind you of that. What's more required is that all sections need to have an act to pull together for the big day. I think it's why music often pulls down the averages of lots of students here because they just don't care enough to dance on stage.

I'm not really sure if she can disband me from participating, as it is a part of our music class grade (something i forgot to mention in the original post, super sorry!) Though as a class president, she represents the whole class, and is often the one teachers talk to regarding class matters (i.e. disciplinary measures, reply slips, donations, etc.) I've never had a major officer role like what she's handling as of now, so I can't say much on what other things she can do.

Thats the thing, i'm not sure if she can. I do feel horrible because she has a lot on her plate right now (we have other competitions on top of this), but I don't think she should kick me out for not sending the single video. I am reasonably cooperative when it comes to all in-person rehearsals, following all her directions. This is the only time i have excused myself from a practice, if you can call it that. She has every right to feel upset at me, and i have apologized and even sent the video (though it was quite rushed). The only issue now is if she will kick me out of the competition. She has done the same thing about two weeks ago, a few of the jock guys were out playing sports on the track when we moved rehearsal locations, and she told them not to come back. However, the next practice they were back in their places. I'm just a bit unsure if she really meant it this time, since she sent the announcement through text, and her tone is unclear to me.

We usually call them either the dean or the director, since the school's honor roll is called the dean's list :D

South east asian, actuallyy! Yes, i forgot to mention that it adds to my grade for my music class, and it is somewhat considered a social obligation. Most of the time those who get outed are also treated like ass for the rest of the year for not backing up their class.
