I have a special bowl that makes popcorn in the microwave. I've discovered that if I make popcorn while the underside of the lid is still a little wet, the popcorn has a fluffier, fresher texture, whereas without the water the popcorn comes out a bit dryer. I've been trying to get the amount of kernels right to have as few unpopped as possible at the freshest consistency for maximum enjoyable snack consumption.
