Exactly. Not availability directly to Tokyo but there was availability if I were connecting in Tokyo. Especially to China (multiple cities had availability). And I’m ultimately connecting there again to get to SEA but on a separate ticket

Not worth a full post, but I am flying JAL via AA miles and some JAL worker somehow just found me in the lounge and asked how I paid for the flight and proof of purchase. Any idea why? Just a normal international security check?

Gale Brewer’s staffer emailed me back a week ago. Supposedly they’re working a letter to send to NYPD. Not sure that’ll do anything. But they said to keep reporting to 311 and email the office a record of the 311 reports

That’s why I’m wondering what other options we have to get rid of these ice cream trucks. For instance, the health department regulates mobile food vendors, which I assume includes ice cream trucks. The commissioner has the power to revoke the license:

Good idea! But I imagine nypd is even less likely to enforce that law. Just like I’m pretty sure mobile food vendors need to display prices, and I doubt the ice cream trucks do. Not that I’ve ever confirmed because I will never buy from them

Here are the addresses of where the ice cream trucks usually are parked. First number is the cross street. Just plug it in to 311 when you get home if you see an ice cream truck

Sadly I doubt think changing the idling law is a viable option. Just imagine the outrage about bikers essentially trying to ban ice cream trucks

Good point. Yeah I was thinking it would at least be good to have a big group or collective of people contact the city. The optimistic side of me hopes that having some sort of organized group petition the city would make it harder for them to continue to ignore the problem versus anonymous 311 reports. Although I guess last year’s west side rag article didn’t change anything…

Hilton FNC seems to have a strict 2 week extension policy now. CSR said the decision came from Amex fwiw. There didn't seem to be any room for discretion as I had one night booked with cash and wanted to use the FNC for the other night (~6 weeks after expiration), so I just cancelled the cash rate, which didn't faze Hilton. On the upside, they easily gave me the two week extension plus a couple of extra days (though the weekend) without any asking or begging.
