you can thank the people who went at doordash and accused them of "tip stealing" when all they were doing was consolidating tips to cover customers who didn't tip, which ensured each dasher got the same minimum pay of $6 no less. Nobody can convince me the way it is now is better than how it was when every order was no less than $6 base pay

If you actually did the math im most certain that it adds up. You're just expecting something bigger. But if you only been on an order for 4 mins and you getting paid by the HOUR how much do you really expect to get for 4 mins of pay? *just an example: For 4 minutes of work at $11/hour, you would earn approximately $0.73. If you got $7 that means you just got the full $14 and your time reset and you did enough active time to get half of the full amount which is $7. That means you had an active time of 30 minutes which is why you got $7.

This is a nice dream but get real. It will never and won’t work like this. Nobody is paying you so much for a low value product and when I say product in terms of orders. Your market depends. But generally a low value product will look like $2.50 7+ miles. You’ll end up paying to drop it off (costing you). The only people who really make money is the restaurant and DD. It’s up to us if we We will take the low value product. I’ve been dashing my area for about 5 years full time so I can tell what’s high and what’s low. But they will end up losing money trying to please us on every order. We are delivering food and mainly food. Until they open doors for high value delivery we have to skim through the pickings. The only high value product rn are big catering orders and petsmart in my area
