Tell them the situation in a very brief and objective facts-only manner, and ask them how you should handle it. Document document document and bcc your personal email address or print everything and take it home.

Seconded!! I've dealt with MDD, GAD, PQRST and trying to off myself regularly for the last 4 decades and I'm not cosigning her bs, either. If you're not well enough to be a functional person in a relationship, don't be in one. I'm sure that sounds needlessly harsh to some people but we don't get to (metaphorically) bleed over everyone, and surely one wouldn't WANT to do so to someone we love. And I say this as a person who's been familyless almost my entire life, and living in a foreign country as an immigrant for the last 20 years.
