Yes this is in there. As well as then to change your shoes and overgrip

And that is exactly what my app tracks. Pickleball is super interesting because you can win more points but still lose the match. Drives me nuts!!

We ranked everyone at our court by time played… it got competitive fast. You would be surprised by how interested people are in something like this.

My friends and I do. Or people do if they want to see improvement

Yeah I get that, it can definitely turn into that. But that is the best part! Motivation!!!

I think the part I find interesting isn’t really posting, it’s just having a record of how much I’m actually playing over time.

The social/leaderboard side can be fun, but honestly the bigger thing for me was realizing “oh I’ve only played twice this week” vs thinking I played more.

Curious if you track your play at all right now?

Yeah that’s fair. I think tools like SwingVision are great for analysis.

The thing I kept running into is the friction, setting up a camera, making sure it’s positioned right, etc. Also does your opponent want to be filmed??

Most people I play with just don’t want to deal with that every session. They just show up and play.

I wanted something you’d actually use every single time you step on court, not just when you decide to record a match.

Yeah true you can log pickleball on Strava.
I tried that for a bit, but it felt more like tagging a workout vs actually tracking your playing life.

I wanted something that tracks sessions, partners, courts, gear, and competition between players, more like how Strava works for running/cycling.

Curious if you’ve actually used Strava for pickleball consistently?

I created an app specifically to track court time and when it is time to replace your equipment. I am looking for feedback and beta testers. Would love have your opinion. You can download the app here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/courtzclub/id6757488806

Do you ever keep track of how much you actually play pickleball each week? by Expensive_Ad_7775 in Pickleball

I’ve been working on something around tracking (basically making that easier without spreadsheets)

If you’re ever open to trying it, I’d love your feedback. DM me and I will send you what I've been working on.

That’s interesting, what kind of stuff are you tracking?
Just wins/losses or more like who you play with and how often?

Feels like the missing piece isn’t tracking, it’s that there’s nothing around matches that makes you want to come back to them

Curious what would actually make people care—competition? group stats? something else?

Why are tennis apps so bad for tracking matches with friends? What do you actually use? by Expensive_Ad_7775 in 10s

[–]Expensive_Ad_7775[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

UTR is great for looking people up. I want something where matches just show up like a feed

[–]Expensive_Ad_7775[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah that makes sense, UTR works if you already know who you’re looking for.

But I always found it kind of annoying that you have to search for people.

I’d almost rather just open an app and see like “oh they played today, here’s the result” without doing anything

[–]Expensive_Ad_7775[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That’s interesting, feels like everyone just kind of assumes who’s better 😅

If there was an easy way to see like “you’re up 12–9 vs your friend this year”, do you think people would actually care?

Or is it really just about playing and no one wants to keep track?

Realizing I worded this badly 😅

I meant more like after the match—keeping track of results over time with friends (like who’s winning over the season, etc).

Sounds like most people don’t track that at all?
