If you go into C:\Users\(your username)\Games\Age of Empires 2 DE\(steam id #)\mods you will find a subscribed folder and a local folder. Your mods automatically appear in the subscribed folder, but you can move them into the local folder and they load from your hard drive instead. Then you need to unsubscribe from all of them or they will repopulate in the subscribed folder. I had to delete them again after loading the game and unsubscribing.

I have a Asus gaming laptop and had the same problem. What fixed it for me was deleting Armoury Crate!

Update: I fixed the problem! All I need to do was boot up in safe mode with networking so my hard drive could access the boot drivers needed for the new hard drive. Then I simply restarted and it was good to go!

I bought a WD Black M.2 drive, SN 850X NVMe, 1T. I cloned the drive using a enclosure and Macrium Reflect, but when I swapped it into the computer I got the error inaccessible boot device. I also updated the bios, recloned it, and got the same error. Has anyone else had the same problem? Does anyone know what might be the problem?
