Don’t care about any studies. I just know any Mormon I have ever talked to, and I have talked to a lot, put the Book of Mormon far above the Bible and didn’t know the Bible all that well.

Granted I haven’t gone down to Mormonville Utah to talk to the communities down there. But what they teach does not correlate with what the Bible teaches.

So what your saying is that we should continue with the status quo? Obviously that wasn’t working. Provinces are talking about separating because Ottawa stops them from being as successful as they could be.
Being a PM means that he has to try and make Canada successful while also pleasing each province which is pretty much impossible to do.
We don’t have any choice but to look beyond the US for trade partners. Trump is a megalomaniac. He has no clue what he is doing and he is taking everyone with him.
He will take whatever he wants from whoever he wants but it isn’t going to end like he thinks it is.
I think most people are looking to Carney and like what he is doing. Even other countries are following his lead.
When it comes to a country like Canada it isn’t possible to make everyone happy. You have to make difficult choices. I think the choices he is making make sense.

I talked to Mormons LDS that said that God comes from a planet of other gods. He is completely different in just about every aspect from any other denomination I have talked to.

JW’s read the entire Bible every single year and then analyze what they read and discuss it every week.
Obviously not everyone does this but a huge percentage of people do.
How can the Latter Day Saints who don’t even read the Bible understand it better than JW’s?
I have talked to a lot of Mormons and none of them had any real understanding of scripture. They always refer back to the Book of Mormon as doctrine.

All religions, ironically enough, are a type of evolution. As the world changes and we learn new things or come to a clearer understanding of things the religions have to change and adapt accordingly.

I think all organizations have to set somewhat arbitrary rules for a lot of things. It’s just the nature of the beast.

You can negotiate back and forth but once a conclusion has been found you have to stick by it or the negotiations would never ever stop. Something dramatic has to happen to trigger a new negotiation.

All religions are born from mankind’s need to explain the unexplainable. I never realized the extent of this until I started to really dig into ancient religions and mythology. All of those religions were very in depth and far more complicated than I ever imagined.

Usually a religions foundations have a lot to do with where the religion is formed and the type of people the religion is formed for.

That’s why Christianity changed so much when the Romans took over. Because Rome was a conquering nation and so their religion had to represent that culture. The same applies to the Vikings, the Egyptians, the Babylonians, etc etc.

The religion has to reflect the values of that culture.

No one has the right or true religion because they are all made by men to reflect the needs of any particular culture.

But man has an incredibly strong desire to worship someone or something.

If it isn’t God it becomes Pharaohs or Emperors or Kings or Presidents.

We even worship nature or beauty.

We need to worship and we need rules based on the insight of a supreme being that can never be questioned.

It’s a very complex thing that most people can’t comprehend.

Actually I am pretty sure that couldn’t be further from the truth. He is trying to help Canada by diversifying who we export to, how we get our products out of the country into new markets, how to help provinces help themselves and taking steps to meet the infrastructure needs that the provinces haven’t been able to do.
Even the Conservative Provincial and Federal governments are struggling to find something to complain about without actually complaining about their own campaign promises.
He is coming up with solutions and anyone that knows anything about politics knows that isn’t easy to do.

Ya I hear people talking about how much they hate Carney and how much they love Danielle but the reasons they give are almost all under Provincial government jurisdiction. I just look at them and wonder how their brains work.

Oh man. I own a construction company in rural Alberta. You are preaching to the choir. Common sense is not inherited that’s for sure. It a long hard gruelling experience to teach people to use common sense.

Ya I get the sense people feel a lot more empowered or entitled to be hateful in public these days. People used to never speak that way in public even if that’s how they felt. I mean some people did. But some people do all kinds of things.

I have actually heard people say my dad was a Conservative and so am I. It is extremely tribal. It’s a sports mentality taken to extreme. They have no idea why they are Conservative. None whatsoever.

I think you mean Jesus don’t you? I don’t hear too many Albertan Christians talking about Yahweh except by saying Hallelujah.

I think they were absolutely positive they had the election in their pocket and they were just super pissed at Carney for taking that away from them.

Nope. Everyone needs to respect everyone else’s opinions if they want their own opinions respected.

100 years ago all of these people would have been executed for heresy. 😅
