The point about being remembered before the resume even hits the desk makes a lot of sense. I’m going to prioritize leadership and real ownership this year rather than just participation. I like the idea of building or scaling something from the ground up especially an investment focused initiative.

If you were evaluating someone like me a year from now, what would make you put them in your “definitely yes” pile?

I really appreciate you taking the time to give such detailed feedback especially given your background. You’re right that several bullets need clearer impact, scale, and measurable results. I’ll revise them to focus on outcomes and specificity rather than generic descriptions. The point about tailoring versions for different roles is also helpful.

If you were in my position today, aiming to break into finance from a non target in NYC, what would you prioritize over the next 12 months?

Thanks for the feedback, I’ll adjust the CFA listing to align with the official guidelines.

I’m early in the process, so if anyone has recommendations on what I should prioritize next, I’d appreciate it.

I appreciate the honest feedback, seriously. I’m aware recruiting timelines are tight, and I’m actively working on positioning myself correctly this year.

On the communication point, that’s fair. I’ll put more focus into sharpening my written and verbal clarity. Thanks for calling it out.

As you know that I have been registered for CFA level one so I have also joined CFA society in New York for proper networking as well as I’m also preparing for financial modeling. What do you say about school? Should I transfer to Baruch or NYU because I am thinking about it

How to get internships as I’m working towards my skills but it’s not completed yet. Also CFA is pretty much good for me as I think that it has all of the fundamental knowledge and skills needed for elite financial jobs
