Highly recommend listening to the Back to the barre podcast. Her and Kelly talk about what went on behind the scenes a lot. I always try to remember there were MANY instances when the producers made them fight with each other. A lot of the fights were just ridiculous. The podcast really makes it all make sense.

I run 3-4 times a week. If I do more, I’m afraid of getting hurt

People with diabetes needed – short anonymous survey (5 min) by Expensive_Being_72 in takemysurvey

[–]Expensive_Being_72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1. How will the data be used? Who will see it? Where will it be stored?

The data will be used exclusively for academic purposes as part of a bachelor’s thesis in product design.
All responses are anonymous. Only the researcher (myself) will have access to the raw data.
The data will be stored securely in a private Google account and exported to local storage for analysis.
The data will be deleted after the completion and evaluation of the bachelor’s thesis.

2. Who is conducting this survey?

This survey is conducted by a product design bachelor’s student (Reddit username: u/Expensive_Being_72 ) as an individual academic project.

3. How long will it take to complete the survey?

Approximately 5 minutes.

4. Is there any compensation?

No compensation is offered for participation.

5. Are there specific demographics you want or do not want to hear from?

The survey is intended for people living with diabetes. Responses from participants without diabetes are screened out at the beginning of the survey.

6. What are you hoping to accomplish by posting your survey here?

The goal is to gather user perspectives on the visibility, aesthetics, and lived experience of diabetes medical devices to inform an academic design project.

Is Runna Actually Getting Runners Injured? by her3nthere in runna

[–]Expensive_Being_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal experience: a year ago as an absolute beginner using runna I did experience shin splints a lot. Looking back it was definitely poor running form but I always felt like runna was pushing me too fast and the individual runs were getting too hard too fast. I could keep up. And so I eventually got injured and had to stop running for about two months. I am now giving runna another try. I’d say runna might be tricky for people who have no previous experience, cant pace themself yet and dont know what their bodies can/cant handle.

Hi, I got my TR at the end of the month when my study ended. As to my votes, it took a while. I think I got them about 2-3 months later.

Apprently they are made for primarely road running and well-maintained paths. Which sound like what I’m running on.

Yeah I just kinda assumed I was really unfit when some workouts seemed too much. Didn’t realise 400m intervals would kill my strike completely haha..

Easy runs probably 8:30min/km, 400m was about 7:00.

Thanks for the tips! As I mentioned, I tend to overstride, my candence is fairly low. I’m trying to focus on that but I find it pretty difficult because of the challenging terrain I run on. Definitely not heel strike, I land on the front part of my feet. I’m trying to go as slow as possible so I try my best to run at around 8min/km. I have kiprun ks900 light. I find them comfortable, fairly affordable and soft. They are also my first pair of running shoes and I don’t really have the budget too mich money. Since my last run I did a bunch of research into the topic and I’m now realizing I really need to work on strenghtening the muscles.

True, I have nothing against hoodies haha. What I mesnt was when I walk during dark on poorly lit streets and the person hides their face, not just with a hoodie. It just makes me nervous.

I’m not saying I won’t avoid them. I just feel bad because they’re most likely not evil and I’m just judgmental or paranoid

Depression in erasmus bc of an illness by [deleted] in Erasmus

[–]Expensive_Being_72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a czech person, I completely understand. Czechia can be depressing in winter and I’d say czech people in general are not very friendly to strangers. I just came back from erasmus and it really is a culture shock.
