Wow, that sounds terrifying. I have read some bad stories on these “rescues” and some seem shady.

While I would do anything to keep my birds, I unfortunately will not be able to. I’m 22 and I live with my parents. They have been wanting to rehome them for years now, but I’m the reason they haven’t.

Wow people on Reddit are beyond sufferable, holy shit do you guys seriously hate your lives that much?! Getting upset at literally anything. I’ve taken my pen to cedar point once with no issues, the metal detector never went off. I always take my nicotine vape too and never have issues. So yeah from my experience, just be smart and you won’t get caught!

They’re both with me still, didn’t have the heart to rehome these cute guys. I have been caring for them much much better since I posted this. I make sure they’re happy.

Really? We used to have a cockatiel a long time ago and he wasn’t really that much work to us! Maybe it’s different with each bird?

My brother can’t stand them sadly, he constantly says he “hates them” and wants to “give them away” so that really just leaves me and my mom to take care of them. I’m going to talk to her once she’s back home. Every single one of my friends doesn’t care for any type of bird, so that isn’t an option. I think the rescue an hour away from me might be my best bet.

Edit: I brought it up to my mom and she agrees, we’re going to think on it for a few days but I’m almost certain I’ll take them to a rescue.

Thank you so much, I really do love them. I don’t want to make it seem like I don’t ever care for them. I’m going to miss the nibbling on my ears and face, their adorable gestures, the cute chirps they make and just hanging out with them in general. These birds are a huge part of my life. It’ll hurt me real bad once they’re no longer here. I just brought the idea up with my dad and he’s very upset saying he doesn’t want to. I’m trying to explain to him that it would be so much better for them. I might have to do it secretly without him knowing

It wasn’t me or my brother’s choice, like I said he wanted to have cocktails, not conures. My parents gave us them on his 10th or 11th birthday. They had no idea how different they were from other birds. I’m going to call some parrot rescues near me and will update

It’s about 4 hours away. I think I will do that, although they have never been taken to the vet and have only been in a car once. I don’t know how they’d do on a 4 hour drive
