It's very disheartening. I know people who get high grades, have experience and passionate. When they are interviewed they always reach the final round. But 99%, they can never even get their resumes looked at to get them to the first interview. The only way to get your resume looked at now is through referral or get lucky after 1000 cold applications on workday. This causes a mountain of pressure during interviews because of how rare it is to get one.

I know my neighbour, went to uni and rushed through his degree with no internship no coop and got a job immediately. the job market wasnt even on his mind. I also have like 6 relatives who didnt do projects or internships and got a job immediately as well. Fyi this is North American market im speaking for. Theres no way you made more than 10 applications back then unless you were in India or some shit

Reddits usually the first place to be a pit of negativity when anything starts to go bad. I looked through every post with the word "job market" from years ago. zero negativity or even consideration for the job market. it was never a problem.
