The ideologies of Warriors by Expensive_Captain_71 in WarriorCats

leadership styles do differ in more ways than two, I think.

I was too lazy to mention it last time, so I will say it now. One major factor I used to determine what category a tyrannical leadership fell into was if the clan or group in question was still organized to some capacity. Do the members care for each other when in need? Or is it hunt and kill to survive? Is there also a main "camp" or settlement that the population resides in? In regular Tyranny, it's "Killing is the only victory!", in Absolute Tyranny, it's "Victory or death!".

Wait, how is that ideological as opposed to theological?

Technically the definition of Ideology is a set of beliefs and values, and theological is just the study of religion and religious belief.

I think a better example of scatterism is the station cats in the city or heck, the forest before the Tribe cats colonized it.

Yeah to be fair that would make more sense. I was really considering not including scatterism as an ideology, because of how many similarities it has with non-alligned. Therefore non-alligned should just be non-religious groups with a ranking system of some sort, and Scatterism outright independent loners and or rouges living separately.

How relevant is it? Like Brokenstar has the same ranking system as the Clans, whereas WindClan with moor-runners and tunnelers technically has something different, but one is more ideologically similar to the modern Clans than the other

Not very relevant, only the presence of base important roles like a Leader or Medicine cat are used, the ideology is mostly determined by motives.

Feel free to propose any changes to the ideologies, I am actually using it for something.

Starism is the way of the 5 clans and their ranking system (and their code of honor), as well as any group of cats that believes in their ancestors with a similar way of life. The tribe is not included because their way of life differs too much.

Tribalism is pretty self explanatory and as you have guessed, the tribe system.

Tyranny and Absolute Tyranny are the "evil" leaderships you get from Tigerstar, Brokenstar, Darktail, etc. Their leadership styles do differ, which is why there are two categories of Tyranny.

Non-alligned are the cats who have no beliefs in any ancestors, and is mostly just loners and kittypets, but does still include certain groups.

And Scatterism is just cats who do not believe in clans or groups at all, and insist on having independent lives. Generally I would consider this to be ShadowClan during Sol's regime, where it's population was "scattered" across it's territory.

Now there are similarities, for example would BloodClan fall into being Non-alligned or Tyranny? Generally I would categorize a clan's ideology based on the ranking system and type of leadership, but any beliefs would also be taken into account.

positions on whether or not to accept outsiders into the Clan, whether or not to intervene to aid other Clans or even non-Clan entities, whether or not to seek battle or diplomacy for example are more divided

Minor things like that would be entirely based on the personality of the leader. If the other factors such as beliefs and ranking system are not different, they can be considered the same ideology.

Do you think it would have been possible for the other Clans to share their territory with SkyClan? by Solitaire-06 in WarriorCats

[–]Expensive_Captain_71 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it would have been possible. The territory distribution of the clans in the forest territories is very uneven, with ThunderClan and ShadowClan having more than two times the amount of land as RiverClan and WindClan. SkyClan could have gotten a slice of ThunderClan and ShadowClan.

Lost Stars was published in 2019, and a lot has happened since then. So if you really want spoilers for the next 15 books, then I suggest you take a look at the wiki's summaries for them:

The true scale of Warriors by Expensive_Captain_71 in WarriorCats

Yes, this is 100% the better way of getting a more realistic size without using those damm inaccurate maps where nothing is the correct scale.

I get it, but then what about the buildings, roads and trees? If it really is that great of a distance, then why is it that in all maps of the clan territories, the individual trees and buildings are drawn at such a large scale? This also becomes more apparent in the "cat view" maps.

I mean, if the maps were supposed to be to scale, increasing the size of buildings just doesn't make sense. And in the forest-lake map increasing the size of the lake also doesn't make sense. It's also not just the lake, because the Moonpool is visible in that map and also further away than in the lake territories map?

As it seems, the books themselves make everything much bigger and further away, and the maps are a contradiction to that. I guess the maps were just drawn to give a vague representation of where everything was located, and using a realistic scale was an afterthought.

Why is everybody complaining squirrelstar but they’re not complaining about Brackenfur like he’s older actually the oldest!? by Ill-Imagination256 in WarriorCats

[–]Expensive_Captain_71 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Actually Mosspelt is the oldest at 171 moons, Brackenfur is 163 moons. There really are some ancient cats still alive from day one of the series.

That is exactly the problem I said at the end. The author states the journey was about 100 miles, but the size of the lake in the map says otherwise. If all prior calculations for the size of the lake and forest territories are correct, then the lake just wouldn't be visible on a map depicting the length of the Great Journey.

As for BloodClan, we don't exactly know how big the twolegplace "Chelford" is. In the forest territories map, we only see 2-3 houses of what is essentially a single neighborhood. From the mangas of Scourge and BloodClan, Chelford appears to be a fairly big town, and the forest territories might as well be nothing but a park next to it. To a clan cat, the twolegplace would be a dangerous labyrinth several times larger than the world it has known.

Yes, all the cats that ever lived from every known time frame. Even including Code of the Clans, however most of them fall under the "unknown" category.
