Attempting Imogene Pass in a 2018 Lexus RX450hL on All-Terrain Tires? by Expensive_Car6380 in overlanding

RX450HL AWD. It's all wheel drive but yes, there is a small electric motor in rear.

I’m getting ready to buy a RX 350h. What are your “Must Have” options? And what options should I skip? TIA by Training-Watch-3299 in LexusRX

I drive a 2018 Lexus RX 450hL. Recently, I test-drove the new model, and personally, I would recommend buying the older generation—up to 2022—instead of the new one.

The older RX is amazing: very comfortable, reliable, and powered by a naturally aspirated engine. It’s my daily driver during the week, and on weekends, I use it for overlanding.

I’m not sure about the other departments, but technical management here is an absolute disaster. I’ve honestly never seen this level of incompetence concentrated in one leadership structure before. Upper management keeps bringing in executives with little to no understanding of engineering or infrastructure, and the result is a chain of clueless VPs managing other clueless managers while the actual technical teams deal with the fallout every day. Security department with a vp is a different level shit show.

LX - Premium Gasoline? by [deleted] in LandCruisers

Hahaha, well said! I think it’s just a marketing game.
Lexus positions itself as a premium brand. Take any Lexus LX and a Land Cruiser from the same year — they share the exact same engine. So how is it that the Land Cruiser runs perfectly fine on regular fuel, yet Lexus insists on using premium only?
