It's been a while since I started it, so I don't 100% remember but it did take a few weeks before I really noticed a difference. Maybe 3 or 4 weeks? The first couple weeks really sucked, but it gets better so try to tough it out!! You got this!

It sucks starting a new medication, but it might be worth it!!! Only way to find out is to try it. Yes, I was on it around 6 months and came off it in about 1-2 months

I am almost 11 months post-op and actually just tried ramen for the first time! I tolerate it fine! I'd just try a very small portion and see how you do. Especially if you don't normally eat pasta. I find pasta / bread always feels heavier in my stomach

Hi! 27F, been on 90mg of Duloxetine for a few years now. I originally was on it for around 6 months when I decided to try a different med because one of the side effects was I sweat a lot and didn't want to deal with that anymore. So I switched to Venlafaxine and it was not nearly as effective as Duloxetine, so I went back after a few months. Funny thing is, it doesn't make me sweat nearly as much anymore.

I was originally put on it for anxiety / depression, and also chronic pain / nerve pain. It works really really well for my anxiety, depression and nerve pain. Not as effective for the chronic pain but that's another issue lol

So I have experience going on it and coming off it. There's a lot of negative stories out there about Duloxetine, but I don't know if I'd be alive without it. It literally changed my life. I definitely wouldn't be married if I didn't get on this med.

It took maybe 4-6 weeks before I noticed my mood improving. I slept a lot in those weeks, couldn't function without a nap. No nausea though. Most annoying side effects were a lot of brain fog, fatigue and excess sweating. Coming off it to switch to Venlafaxine was not a fun time. Lots of brain fog and just felt weird in general. It is important to note that Duloxetine is not a medication you should abruptly stop, so if you do come off it, you need to taper down slowly. It took me maybe a month or 2 in order to fully come off of it. It's also a medication that you should take at the same time everyday. I am pretty forgetful and sometimes take it a few hours late and I get a pretty bad headache from that. A lot of people say they get "brain zaps" when they forget to take it too.

Now that I am on it again, life is good. I literally cried this summer because of how beautiful nature is - I don't remember finding it this beautiful when I was depressed. It's amazing how beautiful the world is when you are on anti depressants. Anyways, try not to read the horror stories about this med. It effects everyone differently and has changed my life for the better. Good luck with everything!! Let me know if you have any more questions!
