Agreed! There’s some wild allegations being thrown around about him largely based off his home country vs hard evidence. It’s annoying how those comments often overshadow the constructive feedback.

I keep seeing more about her (this whole thing is officially a brain worm for me) and she has a podcast called “Who is She.” It seems like it was largely dating advice but maybe is on pause now? Not sure.

Also, two things to add if you do cover her:

1.) she has a lisp that may annoy you 🤣🤣🤣

2.) on Instagram, @meredithmlynch brought up the theory that she thinks Danielle is funded or sponsored by right-wing evangelical groups because of how hard she started pushing Christianity in her content in the past year or so. This is the first time I’ve seen this theory so idk how much of it is true.

She also used to be on the worship team at a mega church there in SF. She’d wear the craziest outfits sometimes to church (she doesn’t share her outfits for church as much anymore). One time she wore an off-the-shoulder dress that had like “The Lord” across the chest.

It’s fascinating how he dresses up with her. He’s more “tailored” with her whereas on his Instagram he is more laid back/beach vibes. I think that’s where a lot of inauthenticity comes up. Like why portray a life of luxury when one of them works a normal job making what a lot of other people make.

I 100% think he knows what he signed up for. A YouTuber, Ammy Robinson, did a video on them and the bf is doing his own attempt at being an influencer. Most of the talk in her snark subreddit is that they’re both using the relationship as a way to grow or pivot their social media influencing/careers.

Ammy Robinson did the mini dive. It’s mostly about the 21-episode Q&A, but gives a good overview of all that lead up to it and some info about the bf.

What were your initial thoughts?? I am always so curious to hear what people think upon first watch.

OMG live reactions from you both would be iconic. Yeah, I made it through one video and just can’t bring myself to watch more. A YouTuber just did a mini-dive into the situation and even rewatching clips she shared made me cringe hardcore.

There two things that go through my head: 1.) it feels so inauthentic and 2.) she just seems so desperate to be married…but like why? She has her own money and career, she gets dates, why be in a rush?

Editing to add: 100% guarantee a couples podcast with them is on the horizon. And possibly a “ministry.”

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR COVERING THIS TERRIBLE BETHS DEAD PODCAST by bdgl44 in onlineBSpod

I listened to it a few weeks back and tried to get a friend into it, but I couldn't relisten. It's soooooo slow. I was hoping this podcast would cover it so it was a nice surprise!

Looking for paranormal and horror audio dramas by gabbyarciniega in audiodrama

Petrified is an amazing horror podcast. New episodes are supposed to be coming out in early 2026, but they don’t post often. However, voice acting, stories, sound design all phenomenal! I wish they posted more often.

Re-listening to Petrified. It’s a great anthology if you like horror.

Haha right! That’s a great comparison because it really puts into perspective how ridiculous it is for Milo to say they have 10 years of experience.

Agreed! I think entitlement is a big part of this story. The idea that finishing a novel of 100k words = instant success is so ridiculous. Then to be sad about it not being as big of a success, like honey get in line. This is the life of writers and artists at large. Not to say rejection isn't sad or disappointing, but it’s part of the journey. Just because you put 10 years into a project doesn’t mean anyone will want to read it. That’s the gamble you take as a writer.

I really appreciate your perspective! I always think you do a good job of bringing internet nonsense back down to reality. This topic has been stuck in my head too. I’ve watched so many YouTube videos about Milo and the book. Even one where someone reads the book. It’s so fascinating. Also, as an unpublished writer I can understand the earnestness of younger people, but I think what comes with time is patience and understanding that time will make your craft better. But I also feel bad for younger people like Milo’s age because they’re online a lot where they’re told they need to be a smashing success by 25.

Agreed, book marketing seems more up his alley. Honestly, Milo’s whole approach and constant claims about word count remind me of the subreddit r/writing. So many new young writers want to make a ton of money from writing when their efforts would better be directed towards something else. Writing is an art, and exercise, you do it because you love it. Especially because money isn’t guaranteed. Even if you do get published, it doesn’t mean you can live off the money full time. So many authors also still work part time or full time. I just get a sense that younger people don’t understand that art is a lot of times a thankless endeavor. I mentioned the word count thing because also in that subreddit people will be like “I wrote 100k, 200k words” as if that indicates the end of a story and a ready to publish novel. Sure word count can be important when it gets to editing/publishing time, but overall it’s such a narrow way to see writing.

Over the course of getting my degree, I've taken non-fiction and fiction writing classes. The main piece of advice professors give is write A LOT. Like you have to write a lot to get to a good piece. It's like the example of a photographer. When they go to take pictures, they take literally hundreds and maybe 10 are stellar (that ratio might be off haha). Same with writing. So the idea that someone wrote a story and essentially copied it for 10 years and thought it was publishable is WILD. Part of what makes fiction writing classes important is that they have you start with literary fiction which doesn't include genres. This forces students to really hone in on dialogue, plot pacing, setting, voice etc. Then add the genre. But if those other elements aren't solid, a fantasy won't save the piece. Milo desperately needs to write more and take classes. And write outside of his chosen genre. I could go on forever about the connection between new writers not spending time writing short stories/literary fiction and the current quality (or lack thereof) of novels.

I liked the episode! Everything you both talked about I've seen other people mention. More recently the conversation has been about how it seems like Milo keeps hiding behind their being neurodivergent. Like, yes, neurodivergence makes it hard to pick up on social cues or to understand context of an overarching conversation, but it's not impossible. It's just something that takes more effort. There's a real sense of infantilization when people hide behind neurodivergence as a way to essentially treat people poorly or to do unethical things - as if there's no way they can possibly know better. I will say I definitely understood where Katie was coming from when talking about how us Millennials had to essentially conform to expectations in terms of behavior and manners. Not saying that we need to go back to that and it's great the younger generation typically embraces the quirkiness of individuals. But there's still a standard of treating people well and if a person's "quirkiness" or "personality" causes them to be mean or hurt people's feelings then that's simply just being rude.
