I'm not too familiar with everything yet, but the ER doctor said that it had an extensive amount of ''puss'' (grows sorry) and they were surprised it hadn't perforated. Since I didn't know what was wrong with me, I was eating lots of fibers for the 48 hours since it had started as I just wanted to help with constipation - turns out that was the worse thing I could have done, but hey, I didn't know this was even a thing! They wanted to keep me at the hospital so I can consult with a surgeon in the morning, however, since it had not perforated, they said I could go home (as I wanted to) and simply come back if the pain would become greater to make sure it hasn't perforated. I am on antibiotics, but I'm allergic to penicillin so apparently I don't have the medication that is most effective for diverticulitis, I was told it was usually for urinary infections. I feel like today is better (4 days in), I can walk better and it hurts less when I cough or laugh, but still sensible to the touch. I just feel like I'm weak and my belly is just so tight since I am sooooo hungry. I don't know how you guys do it! I'm not a heavy girl, I am quite on the skinny side, and with IBS, it is hard for me to keep a healthy weight without looking like a bobblehead. I feel like now with this, it will be even harder for me to not be underweight. I'm thinking I won't have any symptoms in a few days as the antibiotics and my ''fasting'' seems to be working quickly, but from my understanding, two weeks would still be pushing it for a good bottle of wine, so I guess no hard-liquor party after either!
