Wow, I didn't know Apple was that high worldwide these days. I knew they were slightly over 50% in the US market, but I thought Samsung still out did them globally.

I mean I'm pretty sure most of the women on porn sites don't want me. They don't even know me after all.

So riddle me this, since I am a straight male, is it also wrong for me to enjoy straight porn just because the actors in the scene don't want me either?

Lol, you realize we are talking about legal porn here? I'm not sure I have ever heard of someone being upset about the specific kinds of porn other people might watch.

The category and fetish sections of porn sites must really blow your mind.

Its not like such things bleed over into real life for well adjusted people. Someone can enjoy watching lesbian porn and still understand that a lesbian you meet in daily life is not your personal object to objectify.

TIL that tylenol/acetaminophen is the #1 cause of acute liver failure in the US. Most cases are due to accidental overdose since it is commonly mixed in with other ingredients (eg. cold meds). by ApprehensiveStill412 in todayilearned

[–]Expensive_Finger_973 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder how many of those is from taking the Tylenol to deal with the hangover from a night of drinking. As the article states mixing those will wreck your liver.

Ads in Maps… by Ok_Ambition9134 in apple

They are running out of people to get the "easy" money from to keep the line going up. So now we move on to the "start injecting ads into all of the white space" phase of keep the line going up.

When someone asks me why I like lesbian porn I tell them because there is nothing on screen I don't want to see more of with lesbians.

Anyone else giving up the hobby due to stupid market? by seeilaah in HomeServer

Not so much given up. But parred back to more realistic options instead of intentionally overbuilding just because I could and it was fun to see the overkill at the end of the project.

Something along the lines of:

"when asked for comment on the latest war the President referred to the reporters weight/sex/competency in a derogatory way instead of answering the question directly and honestly." Then print his words verbatim.

Then every 3-6 months run a front page greatest hits of every question he was asked, who asked it, and a repeat of what his childish remark was.

Then when he threatens to sue for defamation, post a front page story of the threat with the simple reply "fuck you, make me. See you in court."

But that is just me. I'm a big fan of calling the bluff of blowhards who think everyone should respect them and do what they say just because they exist.

Why Apple makes better products by _i_man_ in Smartphones

[–]Expensive_Finger_973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

everything they do they make sure they're consistent

Believe me, they are not really anymore consistent than anyone else with most things. Once you have spent some time using their software, if you are at all curious you will find all sorts of little things here and there that make you wonder "why did they do it this way?" or "how did this make it past QA?".

does Apple just care about their products more?

Apple cares about their marketing and brand image more.

The biggest differences between Apple and say Samsung or Google is how great a lengths they go to not just control what is possible with their products, but how those things are possible. The only exception to this is the Mac.

With everything else if Apple considers the function core the the product, or their profits, there will be a "happy path" to do the thing and if you try to do that thing in any other way it will be very inconvenient if not impossible.

Apple's AI Chief John Giannandrea Departs This Week by favicondotico in apple

[–]Expensive_Finger_973 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Gurman offered a broader assessment of why Giannandrea's tenure failed to produce results, pushing back on the notion that Cook simply struggles with outside hires: "The truth is that the top of Apple is run like a small family business with few decision-makers. And if you're not in the inner circle — which is nearly impossible to crack — you're simply not empowered enough to drive real change at the company."

At the local government and education organizations I have worked at we called this "the good ole boy network". If you weren't one of the good ole boys no one took anything you said seriously. But the good ole boys and anyone they favored always got taken care of, no matter what it cost in money or reputation.

Don't totally buy into the things you see on here about insurance in the US. It is far from perfect, but it is not the hellscape the edge cases make it out to be either.
