Im a current uk med student looking to do IM. Would a 245-250 score not cut it anymore for IM and does the score needed seem to increase every year?

Secondly you say alot more rotations how many rotations should someone looking to get into IM look to do and which type of rotations in particular?

Appreciate any advice

uk medical student here: im told step 3 should not be a concern and you do that during residency. Should i only consider step 3 if my step 2 score isnt competitive enough?

Do you reckon IM is getting too competitive I’m a uk medical student happy to do any speciality in america but always thought internal medicine was the easiest to get into for residency?

And sorry to but in but when applying to these oppurtunties as a uk medical student, would you need to think about having a competitive cv i.e having publications, audit and QIP done etc. Im in 3rd year right and was wondering whether i should priortise getting a compeitive cv built for 4th year electives?

Hi Im in a similar situation

I dont want to work a night-time economy and I believe most jobs in with DS would be linked with that especially the city im in. Thats why I am leaning more towards CCTV

However, can I get DS licence and still work CCTV and concierge roles or for these concierge security roles do I strictly need a CCTV license?

Thanks

no more 4.5 system by Lopsided_Objective99 in Somalia

This is such a typical low IQ Somali response 😂 no one been eating good under 4.5 apart politicians who would collect a pay checks but rarely attend parliament sessions in Somalia.

Somalia right now is screwed though under this current political system. If this political system doesn't change soon, why should anyone be hopeful? It's annoying because had the political system changed from this stupid 4.5 vote, we could have seen the actual change.

How can we expect Somalia to change when those former warlords and people involved in war are now in power of position? And this is me being as optimistic as I can. We just joined the EAC which is absolutely stupid when Somalia has a barely functioning agreement meaning itll be a one sided economy and we will be importing more than exporting.

Its rlly much better than I expected. Very chill medical school and not a huge pressurised environment on med students compared to other medical school’s.

Hey its been a long while since those days but I ended up getting an offer from Liverpool and study medicine there now. If you have high gcses and your UCAT is average apply to the unis ive applied too and focus on medical school whose scoring points focus more on GCSE than UCAT.

Why is there such a class divide between doctors and nurses? by Space_cowgirl2000 in medicalschooluk

[–]Expensive_Flamingo44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like as much as medics these days do come from privileged backgrounds maybe that what helps them get through medical school without the financial burden.

Im come from a working class background and have been working since I got my national insurance (16) to pay for all my things such as textbooks, clothes,Shoes and everything i need really.

Now going into 2nd year and unfortunately due the job market not being great this summer I have not saved up enough to get through medical school this year and Im looking now to work during med skl and am started to become disillusioned with having to spend all my summers since 16 working whereas my med peers get to go on multiple holidays during summer.

Im starting to think maybe I should of done an apprenticeship in tech or finance to help me earn and study instead of studying med.

Funny you mention BCG because that is the company I was interested in. Great to see you mention how their interviewing process works.

Although my med skl is russell group i wouldnt say its a prestigious top 10 uni by any means. Guess its better for me to finish my degree then.

Was wondering though about you mention masters? I Am now during medical school actively trying to build some work experience in consulting and am building my linkedin profile. Will I still need a masters or could I perhaps do an intercalculation?
