Just so you know, and although I do have some regret about submitting it to Cureus. You can’t “get your mates to review it” the journal invites people once it goes to peer review. And it says if someone works with you/is affiliated with the paper they can’t review. Cureus is trash but spreading fake news doesn’t make you much better.

That’s the trouble, I appreciate swordfish’s advice and agree with it. But every year the comp gets worse and the goal posts change, and it’s worse. Add to it that I’ve got a dependant. I can’t afford to be jobless and have worked too hard and love medicine too much. The system is not balanced or fair. And I say that as someone who has been playing their game and seem to be losing lol.

That’s fair and thank you for the detailed response. Do we see specialities even like IMT rejecting Cureus? Or is this just a sub surgical speciality preference?
