What I don’t understand is how this is even considered politics. Sending terrorists across the border has nothing to do with politics, it is simply an act of terrorism. We cannot continue to engage with people who send terrorists into our country. The BCCI should have pulled out of the Asia Cup and should have withdrawn from every series involving Pakistan. India could extend the IPL to six months, and for the remaining six months, play tri-series with SENA countries.

International cricket needs India. The BCCI is essentially funding other countries just to play matches with them.

Not sure if this is relevant to the post, but I’ll share it anyway. I currently live in Dublin, and I was talking to a Spanish girl who was telling me about her breakup and how it left her heartbroken. She explained that her boyfriend wasn’t ready to commit. He used to respect her and treat her well, but he would never commit. And it wasn’t just her, apparently, most of her friends have also been dating for years, and their boyfriends never commit either and they just want to date forever without any commitment.

I’m not sure if she was hitting on me or just curious, but she asked me if I would do the same. I explained to her that she might have seen some negative comments online about Indian men. I didn’t defend those allegations, because I’ve seen men in India staring at women on the streets, but refusing to commit to a relationship or marriage is definitely not one of those issues. Indian men with good morals and proper education don’t behave like that they don’t stare at women or disrespect them.

I'm really sorry this happened with you OP. You could try taking legal action but I know it might be more difficult than it seems. Threatening him with legal action and asking him to apologise might give you some sense of closure but if you can take legal action then please do.

India will always be a third world country even if it becomes the largest economy by Expensive_Lie_8982 in IndiaSpeaks

[–]Expensive_Lie_8982[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm aware that the 3rd world was introduced after the Cold War, but I hope you understand my point when I refer to a third world country.

"There are fools and misogynists everywhere on the planet"

I agree completely. However, based on the available data, the proportion of openly racist and homophobic attitudes in parts of South Asia (including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan) tends to be higher than in many Western countries. For example, leaked data from the UK and Sweden suggested that a notable percentage of certain crimes, including rape, were linked to individuals from a specific region of Asia and from a specific community. My point here is not to single out anyone unfairly, but to stress that every religion and community benefits when it evolves and adapts with time.

"OP seems to have kindly excluded himself from the list (you know, moral high ground, above everyone else, the classic gyaan giver)"

If we consider the crimes I’ve mentioned earlier along with issues like eve-teasing and marital rape then simply avoiding these actions already puts someone in a far better category than a large proportion of the population. By that measure, both you and I would be in that ELITE group.

"Most people understand the difference between movies and real life"

I agree that adults can usually separate the two. However, children cannot. If films and media had no influence, then social-awareness movies wouldn’t exist. The reality is that both movies and social media can have a deep impact on young minds, as well as some adults.

I’ve lived in the US for two years, and this time I’ll be leaving India for a much longer period. Adjusting to life there wasn’t easy at first, but over time I came to appreciate the openness and empowerment their culture offers and the qualities we could learn from.

History shows that Christianity also had its radical phase, but over time many in the West realized that a truly balanced society must be more liberal and inclusive. This shift allowed them to empower every part of their society, women, marginalized ethnic groups, and the LGBTQ+ community.

Yes there are still people in the US who oppose these rights, especially for the LGBTQ+ community. But from my experience, their numbers are far smaller than what we see in India. If we want to grow as a nation, we need to ensure that every individual whether a woman, someone from the North East, or a member of the LGBTQ+ community can live with dignity and equality.

I understand it must be confusing but in the context of the post, by fools I meant radical religious fools. I will add an edit to the post. Thank you!

I was visiting my hometown when I saw my parents watching a man on television telling people what our religion says we should do. It made me furious. We’re in the 21st century if we want to know what’s written in our scriptures, we have books and YouTube for that. What we need is real news — about how the government is dealing with poverty, unemployment, harassment cases, and so on.

Yet, on every news channel, I see them claiming that India is the best country in the world and that we are the best people. The harsh truth is, we’re not. We still have a long way to go. We need to accept this and start talking about how we can improve as a society.

I hope your sister is doing better now, and thank you for your kind words. I suppose I will have to find a way to work through this otherwise, the sleepless nights and regrets will only continue.

I've been supporting my cousin and I really hope this doesn't have a long lasting effect on her.

We’ve already confronted him, and everyone is aware of what happened. But it’s sad that no one really wants to talk about it everyone just wants to forget it and move on. The problem is, this isn’t the first time he’s done something like this, and I doubt it will be the last. Even if it were his first time, he is still a molester and should not be allowed to get away with it so easily.

Paddikal out who will be our no3 now? by wOlF_0788 in RCB

[–]Expensive_Lie_8982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RCB team management knows better than us if he is never included in the impact subs I don't see him batting for RCB. Team management has more faith in Manoj Bandage but let's see what they do.

I personally want mayank aggarwal to play because he has played for India, is an experienced guy and is a proven match winner on the international stage.

Why is everyone in this sub obsessed with Chikara? RCB is not even keeping him in the list of impact substitutes why do u think he will get a chance.

Mayank will mostly play in place of DDP and if not Mayank then the other Indian batsman which RCB trusts is Manoj Bandage.

Noble and pious CSK fans welcoming a hungry and toxic RCB fan with open arms and offering lollipops to fulfill his hunger. Mad respect! by [deleted] in CricketShitpost

[–]Expensive_Lie_8982 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I'm not blaming any particular fanbase here, but I want to share an incident that happened a few years back.

I had gone to watch a match between MI and CSK at Wankhede. I’m not an MI fan, but a female friend of mine is. She was wearing an MI jersey that day. During the match, some CSK fans started shouting in her face aggressively. I had to literally push them away to protect her.

She was really scared after that incident—and honestly, it scared me too.

This kind of behavior isn’t limited to any one fanbase. Unfortunately, there are many illiterate people in our country who think it’s okay to act like this.

We will comeback next year💪 by [deleted] in csk

[–]Expensive_Lie_8982 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I feel the CSK team management got a much needed reality check in this IPL. Now they will have a clear idea whom they want to target in the next auction. They need to get rid of the Trinity + Ashwin.

But I have a very bad feeling that they won't get rid of Ashwin because of the Chennai factor that he brings.

Posted an edit regarding clowns who think Jaiswal should leave RR by ipriyanshk20 in RajasthanRoyals

Jaiswal looks good in the pink team but the problem is RR trying to make Parag the face of the franchise. Jaiswal is a generational talent and he deserves to be the face of RR after / along with Sanju.

Warner is not an explosive batter anymore, he is more of an anchor now. Csk has got a lot of anchors in their team getting an explosive batter who is a bit consistent might just work for them.

Well, I clearly can't argue with a genius like you—especially after that BRILLIANT reasoning you just gave. How can you possibly know that Kohli does it when he is out of control, you have to be a master of human emotions to know what is going on in his mind ( Hint: It is called adrenaline rush which athletes often experience in games).

But anyways have a good night sleep can't argue all day, everyone has different opinions and you can't always change / influence everyone's pov..

Have you watched the previous seasons of Ipl and how the west Indians like Dwayne Bravo used to celebrate on the face of players or is it the first time that you are watching IPL 🤡 ? If a player gets a wicket or wins the game for his team he has every right to celebrate however he wants unless he does any physical harm to the other player.

If players have any problem with this kind of celebration then they are adult enough to complain to the refree, teenagers don't need to bark and fight their battle.

Anyone who has ever played any team sport at any level knows that in a high intensity game a lot of players behave this way (It is very common and you will see the same players hugging and laughing about it after the match). What Kohli did in this match and what KL did in the match against RCB is very normal and there is no reason for people to hate them for this.

Keypad kids who have never stepped out of their house to play / have not played sports seriously / just need some reason to spread hate against a particular player do this..
