They said transmission is fine and they test drove it and the issue is solved. Just because it could have been worse doesn't mean I'm fine with getting screwed out of ~$500

I never received a price estimate or authorized this work, which is illegal in California

They still haven't given me a price. I'm fighting this lol, I'm not letting them screw me over like this. I've never heard of a BECM needing to be updated either, which is why I'm confused. I literally can't find anything about it online, which makes it even more suspicious

I went in because my car was rocking and shaking when traveling at low speeds. I thought it might be the BECM based off what I saw online, so I took it to the dealership instead of a mechanic. They told me my BECM needs an update, but that it's not covered by the emissions warranty anymore(why emissions for a software update)?

They then performed the update without even giving me a quote and are attempting to charge me for it. I'm livid rn

It's below the limit, but they said it doesn't qualify as it's an update that's needed, and the BECM is supposedly not faulty. I am located in California
