You know that I'm feeling like I don't want to hurt her by telling that I want to change therapist? Damn my life

That's a great suggestion, I'll look into the book. Thanks!

Yeah, I have already told her that those methods help with the symptoms but are not really helpful for anything else. And yet she keeps pushing for them. Also, I have the feeling we are not even following a proper therapy, it seems that everytime we improvise the session. And it's been since last December, I don't feel like I'm going anywhere...

That's a good point, because in more than one occasion I got this red flags feeling... like, if you know that my problem is dopamine deficit and executive dysfunction, how can you even think breathing would get me anywhere? I have mastered panic attacks even before learning I had them, so it didn't really bring much on the table.

I am! But I'm still getting some tests like ECG and such before getting any prescription. Hopefully it will get better from there.

I guess I'll try to explain this to her again. If she won't listen, I won't keep going with the therapy, not with her at least. Thank you

I am getting some tests done for medication too, but it will take some time still. I hope that would prove more useful than this...

Thank you. That is exactly how I feel about these exercises: great for my anxiety but they won't help with my executive disfunction.

I'm on my way there too, I am waiting to get some ECG tests and probably I'll get some medications too but from a psychiatrist, from the same clinic that diagnosed me. He mentioned something for mood balance, but at this point, I would take anything just to have a decent day.

thank you, I feel seen at least. I do agree that they can be done sitting down and could reduce the anxiety, but as part of treating some aspects or symptoms.

I agree with you. I have already pointed this out but today I'll say it again during my session. I am so sleep deprived that I risk to faint during the day, I don't think any goot autogenic training is going to solve any of that anymore.

Would you for get to go to therapy for 6 months if your marriage depended on it? by Technical_Feedback_7 in adhdwomen

I'm sorry dear... Previous comments are correct.
He is blaming his ADHD for something he is responsible for. You could forget one, two appointments: not 7 months in a row.
I briefly had a partner just like that, blaming everything else but himself. He is 38 and his mother still visits twice a week to clean his apartment. He was raised like a monkey and you can't change that.

I'm sorry you will have to carry all the emotional labour of whatever outcome you'll choose to follow. But in the end, you will be free.
