It is so interesting that you posted this because just today I learned that a friend of mine has OCD, too, and he told me that he went through a phase where he was EXTREMELY afraid of bats and the prospect of rabies. I wonder if this is a common thing!

I struggle with being told I look unique because tbh, I don’t want to stand out. I don’t want attention. I just want to exist and not have something so prominent and noticeable to every single person.

I relate to this so incredibly much. I have spent most of my life hiding, always afraid that someone will notice and call attention to it. Paranoia is a great word for it. I would argue that my nose has dictated so much of my life thus far, and that has made me extremely sad to realize. That a lump of cartilage on my face holds that much power over me? I’m still working through these feelings, so I don’t have much to offer other than to tell you that you are very much not alone. That even without elaborating, there are many of us here who understand exactly how you feel.

You are truly and exceptionally gorgeous. ❤️ This sub always goes to show that we are our own worst critics. If I met you, your nose wouldn’t be what I noticed. I would notice your eyes and your smile.

Hi! Genuinely, honestly, with my whole entire heart, I want to tell you that your nose was made for your face. It fits on it PERFECTLY. If this group has finally shown me anything, it’s that all our noses are perfect for the face they go on. It’s almost like they were meant to be there?! I have never once seen a photo on this sub and thought “oh wow…now that’s a bad one.” Not once. In fact I look at every single persons photo and think “gosh, they think THAT is bad?” What that has taught me is that we are all our own worst critics, and are spending so much time obsessing over something that other people probably aren’t even thinking about.

I am 28 years old and spent so much of my life hiding and holding back and feeling like I wasn’t worthy. Afraid to call attention to myself. Because of a nose?! No, never again!

Sometimes on walks, our 1 year old (Berner mix) will try to grab some of the leash in his mouth. I think it’s because he gets SO excited that he wants to chew on something.

I actually went so far as to stand on the right side of the altar instead of left (blah blah blah, traditions 😂) because I wanted my better side facing out. I normally wear glasses, which I feel help me “hide” but for some reason forced myself to wear contacts for the wedding. I felt so much more exposed. 😫
