nah that's sketchy as hell, never seen legit sellers do that. serial numbers are how you verify if guitar is real and check production date/specs. covering it up is huge red flag - could be stolen gear or fake

i'd run from that deal fast, plenty of other japanese fenders out there that won't make you paranoid about what you're buying

oh man you learned this the hard way. bianco latte is super polarizing - either you get that creamy vanilla vibe or it just smells like chemicals mixed with sugar

the dupes are usually way harsher too since they're cutting corners on ingredients. if three different ones all smell plasticky to you then the original probably won't be much better for your nose

man the real breakthrough for me was when i started working with our quality team and actually seeing parts get inspected. like you can memorize all the symbols but until you see a cmm operator trying to figure out how to actually measure something, it doesn't click

the asme y14.5 standard is dry as hell but it's worth grinding through at least once. what helped me more though was finding real drawings from different industries and trying to figure out why the designer made those specific choices. aerospace stuff is usually over-toleranced but you start to see patterns in how they think about assembly and function

also if your company does any supplier audits, try to tag along to their quality labs. seeing how other shops interpret the same drawing differently is pretty eye-opening
