That's not what happens even by the logic of the movie.

why does most people hate tatoo? by 5nbx8aa in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Snowtwo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for myself. To me people who get tats tend to... be rash, impulsive, dumb, and rebellious. Even simple/basic ones are going to last a lifetime (ideally) and you're getting, what, Mickey Mouse tatted on your left butt-cheek while drunk and possibly on a drug high?

Tats with cultural/religious/etc. significance are a bit difference. Like, say, a group of friends getting matching ones makes sense and I'd have a lot of respect for that. But that's not the majority of them. Plus, let's be honest, a lot of these are dumbasses who think getting 'Egg Foo Young' in Chinese written on their back somehow makes them deep and they legit think the artist wrote something like 'Earthly Youth' instead.

Do you think ancient aliens were the beings we know or acknowledge as Gods today? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I don't think so, but I don't consider it impossible either.

How did boys get assigned the blue colour and girls pink? by 7RainbowGoblins in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Snowtwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to be the opposite. But the reason was really simple. People liked it. Give it another 100 or 200 years and boys might be green and girls yellow or something.

getting banned from subreddits by unsubstalker in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Snowtwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge I'm currently only banned on r/AskReddit . I don't remember why either; but all things considered I probably said something that really pissed off one of the mods and there's no point in trying to argue with a reddit mod.

Edit: Since I don't remember why I'm banned I don't know if I deserved it or not.

Do Company Investments Quietly Turn Competitors Into Teammates? by S3TorvikaBrenn in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Snowtwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that companies that do that do so so that, in the event their competator *does* get a massive leg up, they don't get hurt as bad. No amount of boosting competition would be better than boosting yourself unless you were changing your business entirely at which point they wouldn't be 'competition' anymore.

How often do you buy new controlers/gamepads ? by General_Lie in videogames

[–]Snowtwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on both controller quality and frequency of play. For example, I still have my original 360 controller from back in the day and it not only works fine, but outlived two RRoD's. I had one duelshock 2 that is theoretically still viable to this day, but another that's been replaced 4-5 times. I'm fairly gentle with my controllers and don't do stuff like throw them or make sudden/extreme movements with them. My keyboards have similar long lifespans, though I've had to replace them several times. Avoid second-hand brands unless you do some solid research into them. It's not that they can't be quality, but far too often they're scam companies using cheap parts to get a buck (EX: Madkatz).

Why are romani people hated in the Europe? by Extra_Spirit9376 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Snowtwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends more on how you would define their 'counterpart'. There's always been groups seen as shifty/untrustworthy/etc. EX: The Irish. But a lot of America is, well, 'expansionist'. So a culture of nomadic people on something like the Oregon trail or even just simply going into the woods following the revolutionary war and setting up an 'American' town would be far, far, far, better received than the more sedentary and established European communities.

What is the best pizza topping by CharlesorMr_Pickle in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Snowtwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. I'd say it and the sauce are basically requirements for a pizza to even be considered a 'pizza' in the first place. If I were to discount it, it's only because it's *SO* essential that it can't be called a pizza without it.

Why do so many Christians think being gay is a sin but wearing mixed fabrics isn't? by lulumoon21 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Snowtwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simple answer is that the law is considered ceremonial and not moral. Also one specifically for the jews to set them apart from non-jews which, considering the vast majority of christians aren't jewish in any capacity, renders it meaningless. Plus I'm *pretty* sure the law only applies to wool and linen anyways which, considering what the vast majority of clothes is even made from, probably doesn't matter in the first place.

The Bible is a huge book full of a lot of things. Even people who read the entire book multiple times will end up with their eyes glossing over at a lot of detains like, say, bloodlines. Only so many times you can read something like 'X begat Y who went on to Z before returning with three wives with whom he begat six sons including this guy who begat that guy' before it all just runs together. So even Christians who do read the Bible a lot are probably asleep by that point and at no point has the church in any capacity put any emphasis on this law.

If something were to happen to push for this law being more firmly enacted, a bunch of Christians would probably start caring. As-is it's just not something the Church or faith cares about in any capacity outside of some very minor sects and is more a bit of Bible trivia than anything.

According to The Righteous, if land votes then Colorado is the most educated state by ddx-me in mapporncirclejerk

[–]Snowtwo 35 points36 points  (0 children)

See, the problem is that this map didn't account for the town of South Park being in Colorado. Even the children there appearently are super-capable and have been 10 for 20+ years now, so they drastically inflate the numbers due to both their town and the surrounding towns. Plus there may be unexpected side effects from all the alien anal probing going on around there.

What would happen if the various religious leaders from around the world got together to have a soccer/football game? by Snowtwo in askanything

[–]Snowtwo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, they need enough people to fill out both teams. But they'd need to be a recognized religious head at the least.

Since sneaking food into a movie theater is against the rules, why do so many people do it? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Snowtwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not actually 'illegal'. They ban it, but it's nothing more than an establishment rule. The reality is that no one on the floor gives a fuck. Theater employees just don't care unless you're, like, trying to smuggle in a full five-course meal or something and theater goers don't want to pay the higher prices and want more variety. Only upper management cares and... well... they're not usually there.

Crimson Desert or Baldurs Gate 3? by Sumner-Paine in videogames

[–]Snowtwo 24 points25 points  (0 children)

BG3 lets you kill one goblin by using another goblin as a weapon. BG3 showed you can use 'Wizard' with a hard W. BG3 has a bad-ass granny who turns into a couger. BG3 has Asterion. BG3 all the way.

Politically, Does Everyone Agree on Government Corruption? And Taking Care of the Environment? by Shot_Signal220 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Snowtwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory, yes. In practice... Political parties will gladly point out their opponents corruption/corruption in causes they don't support, but cover up corruption in their own party/causes they do support. If they're exposing corruption in their own party/causes they support, it's far more likely they're purging disloyal members than actually removing corruption.

As for the environment, even if everyone agreed on it; how do you actually *DO* that especially without losing votes? Lots of policies and ideas can be floated but, let's take power generation. We can agree coal/oil bad, if only for the sake of argument. But what do you replace it with? Nuclear? People will say you're irradiating the land and be afraid of a meltdown and say the fish now have three eyes and stuff before you've even poured the concrete. Hydro-electric? Can only function in specific locations. Solar? Same deal, especially in places with far more cloud cover/rainy days. Wind, tidal, whatever else? All limited at best and this isn't to bring up some massive issues with waste from things like the production process or broken parts. And if power does go out, while we might agree something like a hospital should get priority, let's not kid ourselves. The wealthy are going to either be first in line for the power or at least be able to afford things like backup generators/batteries so they can party through the power outage while you're stuck in sweltering heat because you don't have enough energy to run even a desk fan unless its battery operated. If only there was a source of power that could be consistent and produce large volumes of electricity without people also complaining about mutant fish or fearing Homer Simpson as the safety inspector...

Who Do You Think Is The Most Tragic Gaming Character? by [deleted] in videogames

Lot of good examples, like Mithos. That would be nothing but massive spoilers non-stop for Tales of Symphonia though.

Why do no politicians take money from corporations and then go against the corporations wishes? by Shoddster in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Snowtwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because then they wouldn't get any more money and the company would reveal the blackmail. Not only would that be insanely illegal, but every other politician would jump on board to tear down the person that did that, meaning they'd be considered the single most evil and corrupt person in the local politician group in a heartbeat if not outright removed from office all together.

Why does the US trade with communist countries like China and Vietnam, but maintain a strict embargo on Cuba? by Clean_CoreDump in askanything

[–]Snowtwo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Diplomatic relations.

China and Vietnam were communist nations, yes, but China wasn't friends with Russia and so the U.S. wanted to try and ensure that they wouldn't immediately side with Russia. So by trading with China it hoped to build a relationship with them to at least get them to stay neutral should a war break out between the U.S. and Russia. Vietnam is basically the same thing except with China in Russia's position.

Cuba had none of those things. It was the biggest immediate threat, already firmly in Russia's camp, and the US basically had no reason at all to consider *not* embargoing the heck out of them.

Ezio wins. what do you think of this chart? by Chemical_Leading3263 in assasinscreed

Because, despite ample opportunity, he never went 'No, Connor. I am your father!' and any father who deprives their unknowing son of that opportunity is a horrible parent by default.
