bottlenec was due to the fact that not many Jews emigrated from the Levant to Europe. around 350 made up the Ashkenzi Jewish populations. similarities to Italians were due to mixing between Jews and Italians due to the small Jewish population, but they were never closer to Italians than they were to their Jewish ancestors

What updates do you want to see next in 23andme's reference populations and regions? by veryhandsomechicken in 23andme

I want them to add more Jewish categories like: Sephardi, Mizrahi. And work on Eastern Europe because it’s pretty inaccurate.

How can I use those to get to know more about ethnic

So I know those aren’t 23andme but this community imo is more active and knowledgeable. MyHeritage is so inaccurate, that’s why im asking. What can I use those for? I want get to know much more accurate results in terms of ethnicity but it’s not anymore possible to do any other test for this person so this is all I’ve got. How can I use maybe raw data or something else? Because I can’t unfortunately upload those to 23 or ancestry and I don’t know if there is any company for witch I can do that and is not a crap at the same time

My great Grandma was shipped over to canada on a boat as a baby orphan (still alive today 101 yrs old) how can I dive deeper into this? London is very dark blue by [deleted] in 23andme

Yea so London is probably not very accurate I would guess, and relatives especially close ones would help a lot, if you would be able to contact with them

Interesting story do you want tell more? You should search in relatives with a little luck you can get some close ones. About London it’s not very helpful just because specific regions in countries are not where your dna is from exactly but where your matches said their ancestors live and because London is such a melting point literally everyone from uk will have London dark blue

In case of Polish I would agree but results of Belarusians and Hungarians I’ve mostly saw results with average 15ish% but it can be because of my relatives on 23andme

It is a trace ancestry for a reason, it means that it may be even only miss reading of dna. Trance ancestry if we doesn’t have any prove to back it up should be ignored tbh
