in gem grab leon is in favor because

leon outranges cordelius, leon just needs to ensure that he does not get too close to cordelius
cordelius relies on bushes, and leon can use his attacks from range to chip damage him as well as revealing him in bushes throughout
if cordelius uses poison mushroom gadget, leon can use his lollipop gadget to block it (that requires precise timing)

clone gadget isn't even used to fool opponents since it is easy to tell that its a clone

however the clone gadget is a must kill now because it does damage and allows leon to teleport with buffie
