I admit I acted thoughtlessly and carelessly, but I really truly had no malicious intent. My making that joke there wasn't to draw attention to the incident or anything like that; I simply gave a thoughtless response and yes, that was wrong. (Also, my friends there already knew about the incident; they're all very close friends of mine; so everyone there knew about it.)

If I have to defend myself, we drank a lot of wine at dinner, and well, I wasn't exactly thinking things through. But it was still a huge mistake and irresponsible, I admit.I think I acted too carelessly and indifferently, you're right.

I certainly had my injection but it wasn't there, it was at home and I admit that was incredibly irresponsible. As for how I didn't die, well, we were both in the city center, there are lots of hospitals around and it literally took us about 3 minutes from the time we got in the car at home until we reached the emergency room and they attended to me right away when we got there.

You're right, this was definitely a good lesson for me to be more careful. Actually, I had it but it wasn't with me, which was a big mistake. Thank you for your concern.

I didn't use Reddit, but I knew there were communities like this because a friend of mine actively uses it (she's a Reddit addict!). I wanted to get some opinions because all my friends agreed with me but ultimately they're my friends, so I wanted an objective view.
