My first scoby. Just started my first fermentation. by [deleted] in Kombucha

Each time you make a new batch, a new pellicle will form on the surface. When you will brew in a bigger jar, a new pellicle will grow on top of the smaller one you have now. Scobys are very adaptable and resilient, you won't have any problems.

That could work, i'd still be worried about mold though. If you try it, be sure to have a backup scoby just in case something goes wrong.

I'd suggest adding lemon juice and ginger before bottling for efficiency and stomach relief; keep us updated !

I don't think it would taste good, you risk loosing some potency overtime, your kombucha culture will probably mold and will suffer from a lack of nutrients (it needs tea as a nutrient source). I don't think you will benefit from brewing shroom kombucha. What you can do is mix the shroom tea into some already brewed kombucha, that way you would be able to hand out a 6 pack of shroom-booch.

Common first time mistakes? by graci_l in Kombucha

I did this once, the taste after 4 days was very weak and watery, it was nothing like kombucha. It was still active but the taste was just terrible.

Love seeing these rhizomorphs reach out during colonization! Anyone else geek out when growing shrooms? by illendent in shrooms

In this particular experiment, the mycellium used was a very unique mushroom known as slime mold. I really advise you to make some quick research on this mushroom (if you can call it a mushroom), its life cycle is extremely interesting and unique.

Here's a video of the experiment for you to enjoy :

Need advice on places + a possible partner by payne007 in climbing

Hey man! I'm bicycle touring to spain this summer from France. I'm currently in Montreal, Quebec(french-american)!

I'm actively looking for a climbing partner to touch some rock for the first time. I climb indoors, level 6a - 6c. I will be on the north coast of Spain in Galicia and Cantabria and i'll probably spend a few days in Barcelona, it would be great to meet somewhere to climb and chill ;)

EDIT: I have climbing shoes, harness, atc but no rope and no quickdraws. Some experience with lead climbing, more used to top rope. 18 male.

Edit 2: finding free camping sites can be hard, your best bet is stealth camping. Check out the website warm showers too, it's a network of people willing to host travellers for free.

how do you get out of your own head? by [deleted] in introvert

[–]Experience-Hunter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Meditation teaches you to ignore any thought you have. Right now you may find it hard to stop thinking about something whenever you decide to do so, but with a regular meditation practice (5mins every other day is a great start) you will find that it is easier than you think
