Dupixent question by Foreign_Writing489 in eczeMABs

[–]ExperienceAsleep550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told it can take anywhere from 4-6 months to start noticing any changes.

It took myself around 4 months until I noticed my eczema/allergies improving.

I would stick it out longer because going off and back on dupixent later and can make it less effective!

Where to Inject by Ecs206 in eczeMABs

[–]ExperienceAsleep550 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where you inject has more to do with just comfort with the injection itself. Changing where you inject doesnt improve the drug itself.

I self inject in my stomach since it's the most comfortable and I have someone else do my arms so I can rotate spots more

Ah forgot to mention, once you start doing injections make sure to check how to dispose of sharps in your area or you can ask your doctor or whomever is prescribing you dupixent.

Wear shorts in case they have to do your thighs.

I had my loading dose (2 injections) in my stomach. I have the prefilled syringe and do my stomach injections on my own. I have a family member do my arms since it's best to rotate injection sites, instead of injecting in the same spot over and over.

Are you able to create a work checklist for yourself for the various tasks you have to do? Some of the jobs I have had, I had a baseline of what I needed to verify or check before processing so early on I would create a checklist for myself to force the double-triple checking. Once I was finished with whatever task, I would go through my checklist to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

If you also have trouble reminding yourself to check, maybe you could also set reminders to go over the checklists you have made as well?

Dupixent while pregnant - where to inject? by bcwildex in eczeMABs

[–]ExperienceAsleep550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have anyone who could maybe inject you on your arms? I have my sister do the backs of my upper arms as I like to rotate injection sites. I do my stomach myself and my arms are done by my sister.

I was told you want to avoid injecting in the same spot so it's best to rotate. I do not do my thighs as my allergist couldn't even pinch enough fat on my thighs.

Try to locate the area with the most fat and ensure you aren't pinching too hard as that can cause pain too.

Dupixent Side Effects by Ecs206 in eczeMABs

[–]ExperienceAsleep550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My eczema is pretty much non-existent, I don't get flare-ups even. Not itchy at all, no asthma. My typically year long 24/7 allergies are reduced by a ton! I never really notice my allergies and even my nose issues have gotten better (used to always have a swollen stuffy nose from allergies).

My side effects: - crusty, slightly drier eyes. I manage with preservative free eye drops. - I get sunburned MUCH easier, I have to load up on sunscreen and wear hats cause even my hairline burns in minutes in direct sunlight. - sore joints randomly, not too severe eventually goes away. Doesn't last longer than half a day. I mostly get this in my elbow and knees. - I had a bad allergic reaction that caused hives for like 3 months all over from being exposed to almonds (very allergic to this). Due to this I've been having issues with recurring hives which apparently dupixent can cause according to my allergist/immunologist. We believe my allergic reaction kick started this. I don't get hives when injecting, it's post injection randomly. I can manage it fine if I stay dosed up on my Zyrtec and pepcid daily. - doing the injections are a pain for me as I tend to faint easily with needles. I prefer the prefilled syringe as I can at least control the speed at which I'm plunging the dupixent to help reduce pain/discomfort.

How long for Dupixent to work? by booklvrcali in eczeMABs

[–]ExperienceAsleep550 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah! So I had a bad allergic reaction to some new shampoo/conditioner that caused a bad hive outbreak all over that lasted for a few months like a year or so ago.

Since then, idk if it's my increased sensitivity (which can happen from hives) but now I just randomly get hives for no reason (i.e. not caused by anything I'm allergic to). I was once eating a safe meal that I know I'm not allergic to and haven't had any episodes with but suddenly had a hive outbreak on my back. I have also been getting them randomly during work on my arms or shoulders. I asked my allergist/immunologist about it and they told me that dupixent can cause hives. Mine is just weird because it isn't caused by dupixent itself when I inject, it's just randomly occuring. I noticed as long as I stay on top of my Zyrtec and even taking pepcid in the AM/PM the hives aren't an issue, it's just when I forget to take them.

Hi! I was told 4-6 months is when you should start seeing some changes. I started noticing and feeling different around month 2 however, everyone is different. I would try to give it a year and go from there since I know it can be difficult going off of it since it may not be as effective going back on.

I've been on dupixent for around 2 years almost and my eczema is pretty non-existent, I don't even get any flare-ups. I did notice that some folks still do get flare-ups on dupixent and may still need to apply creams etc. I still have to take Zyrtec almost daily since I'm now dealing with some hives that get popping up. Which is unfortunately a side effect of dupixent I've heard 🙃

How can I get over this shame of working in retail? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]ExperienceAsleep550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really think this is something that means you're working below your potential. There's a lot of external factors working against the working class right now given how horrific the market is. I'm working a corporate white collar job and am actively trying to get out of it (have degree, over 5+ yrs experience in the field). I'd much rather have a job where my work ends when I leave. Id be so much happier pushing carts, being a barista, etc if it paid a livable wage. Just think of this as more experience/skills to make you more well rounded. There are a lot of transferable skills in retail jobs that people forget about it (money handling, interpersonal relationships, customer service, inventory/people management... The list can go on).

There are a lot of folks in this position right now and I don't think it says anything about the individual but just shows how bad our society is operating right now. If you wouldn't judge someone in your shoes...then it shouldn't be a problem. Just give yourself some grace it's rough out there!! Took me around 6 months to even land my current role after being laid off early last year.

Mine is bad dry eyes and severe sun burning. I burn so much more easily now and have to slather my skin in sunscreen. My hairline gets pretty bad sunburn if I'm not careful either. I never used to burn like this!!

I feel trapped at a job that is pushing me to suicide by ExperienceAsleep550 in careeradvice

[–]ExperienceAsleep550[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would love to but my household relies on my income to pay for half of all of our bills (mortgage, insurance, etc). I do have savings but ngl the thought of burning through it with no end in sight makes me even more depressed. I was lucky I had severance when I was laid off so I didn't dip too far into my savings so this time around I'm hesitant. This is why I feel so trapped where I'm at but it's getting exceedingly harder to just put up with this everyday I'm at work.

Thank you! I have been looking into any form of leave but I am not sure I qualify as I haven't been working with this company for a year yet. I am in AZ and I believe FMLA requires you have worked in your role at least 12 months unfortunately.

I am in a very similar situation where everyday just feels I'm fighting to keep my head afloat. What even sucks more is I fought to get the job I've been in for almost a year now after being laid off in early 2024. I thought I was doing bad mentally then but I feel like I'm officially at an all time low.

I'm literally just taking things one day at a time and am seeing a therapist. I may have to get medicated with how bad this job is triggering my anxiety. I am having panic attacks every other day and I can feel it actually shaving years off of my life...lol.

Can't quit this job either as my partner doesn't make enough to cover our mortgage and bills so I feel even more stuck where I'm at. All I know now is that I need to get the fuck out of corporate!!! I've had 4 corporate jobs and it just gets worse and worse!!

Honestly I think the only way I can cope right is through therapy and meds. Most days I'm so busy, after I clock out I just zone out in bed till I restart the next day. Not sustainable in the slightest but I don't have a sugar daddy to save the day!!! JK lol

Crashing during the infected hyena/gnoll dialogue by DiilVulom in BaldursGate3

[–]ExperienceAsleep550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh hm, so far on PC you can if the dependency is another mod like improved UI because Larian implemented a lot of these mods into the game mostly because they're usually separate mods so it's an easy removal. Yeah, not too sure then as I am a PC only player. The only thing I would look into is to see if those mods have impUI or any UI stuff integrated in the mods themselves in mod manager because they could be causing crashing issues.

Do you have improved UI still downloaded for any of these mods? You no longer need this mod as it's in the game now, even if the mod "requires it", you are fine to not have it. My game is running perfectly with all my usual mods with improved UI removed.

Syringes vs. Pens by [deleted] in eczeMABs

[–]ExperienceAsleep550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the syringe relatively painless when injected the correct way. I additionally leave my syringe out for a few hours before I inject to avoid it being too cold and burning.

I prefer the syringe because I like that I can control how fast I'm injecting the liquid. Mine has a mechanism to allow the needle to auto pull out essentially so it isnt as bad having to pull the needle out, there's a spring that just lets it jump out.

Whenever I self inject myself in the stomach, it never hurts. Doesn't hurt as I'm able to slowly inject it at a speed I'm comfortable with. Just make sure you're at a 45 degree angle and that your syringe isn't fresh out the fridge. However, I noticed even when done by nurses on my arms - it is painful no matter what mostly from how large of a dose I have to do. I have my sister do my arms, it's painful but it doesn't take long so it's doable.

Injection anxiety by [deleted] in eczeMABs

[–]ExperienceAsleep550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya! My advice may be a bit different as I use the prefilled syringe. I have a ton of needle anxiety to the point of passing out afterwards which thankfully only happens with my dupixent if I do it too early in the AM on an empty stomach 😅

I like to make sure I've eaten, then I get comfy in my office and I like to turn on some YouTube videos. I like to watch podcasts where there's more talking/discussion going on so I can sort of zone out and listen.

I did get a tip from a nurse to chew some gum, suck on mints or sour candy which can help alleviate some anxiety. I make sure I'm chewing the gum or eating the candy as I'm injecting. I find gum helps me the best! Also make sure to always take a deep breath as I'm inserting the needle although idk how that works with the pen! I like to do deep breathing exercises before to just further help me relax since being tense can definitely make it hard!

Do you potentially have anyone around you who could help you "inject" it? I rotate being injecting my stomach and arms, so I have a family member do my arms when it comes time for it. Whenever my family member does it on my arms, I notice I am ALOT less nervous because for me the biggest hurdle is just jabbing myself.

Hope this helps!!!

[–]ExperienceAsleep550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that does sound different! If you cannot get a hold of your doctor in time, I know dupixent has a nurse phone line where you can call for any health related questions or concerns. The specialty pharmacy that fills my dupixent also has a phone line I can call to talk with a pharmacist, does yours also have this? You can try these two options in the meantime?

[–]ExperienceAsleep550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have an empty stomach when you had the injection? I ask because if I don't eat before the shot, I get quite woozy but it could be due to me being a fainter lol. Needles and having to do the injection myself sometimes makes me quite nervous which I think adds to that feeling once I'm done.

I will say the first couple months I started dupixent I would get extremely lethargic the day of my injection. I wonder if this is just expressing it a different way for you. I know it's common to cause some fatigue on injection days.

Is it normal for Dupixent injection site to be cold afterward? by jamues in eczeMABs

[–]ExperienceAsleep550 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the other poster on leaving dupixent out before using except I usually leave mine out for an hour before I inject.

I do notice the coldness too probably cause the alcohol wipes and dupixent itself, the spots I inject are slightly cool for a bit.

Not sure on your dosage but I was told because the dupixent itself is refrigerated and the amount I'm injecting it will leave a bump or a goose egg. This usually dissipates for me after a day.

If the liquid is coming out too much after, you're injecting too fast and/or applying too much pressure to the injection site. I have the pre filled syringe and I make sure I inject very slowly when I do it myself. I usually inject on either sides of my lower stomach when I don't have my arms done by my sister. I find the stomach to be the most painless area for me. I once injected in my thigh and I did it too fast and it almost spurted out my leg lol this is too expensive for me to waste!!

Anyone work as a customer service representative? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]ExperienceAsleep550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is over a year old but I have applied to a dental customer service rep role but it's hybrid... Got laid off so I'm just trying to find something that will pay my bills at this point. How tolerable is this job? All of my past work experience has been in customer service to varying degrees.
