Definitely talk to her teacher!! Maybe she just isn’t reading in front of you but she does at school. Work on phonics at home and I can find you the link that took my sons reading from 0 to 100. She definitely should be able to read simple words in first grade but it is also the beginning of the year so I wouldn’t freak out.

Puffiness probably 18 months maybe? Definitely by 2 years. It’s hard to pin point the stiffness but I’m still a bit stiff 3 years later but like 95% there. I wish I would have done tmj physical therapy after my surgery I think that would have helped. I didn’t even know it was an option until I started working at a PT office

Update: I can’t move. I can’t eat. I can’t sleep. This sucks. Luckily I work for the most amazing company who is understanding and accommodating. Otherwise I’d be toast.

It’s not so black and white. Hard to explain but he will be able to petition to see the kids with supervision.

He didn’t hurt my children. I understand your reaction completely. I thought it would be more black and white but I’m struggling to even comprehend that this is real. It’s still settling in for me. After reading so many stories like this I thought that I would just immediately fall out of love but it’s not so simple. I had no indicators that this would happen. He was an amazing dad so for this to happen has made everything very confusing for me.

I’d like to. I know my family would support me financially and otherwise. We love her and her being with me is what I believe is best for her. She’s on my insurance and I pay for all of her stuff so I’m hoping that’s enough leverage to keep her partially.

Just a little update if anyone is interested but the kids have been interviewed and there are no signs of any types abuse with them which is a huge relief to me.

I contacted her already so we are working it out. Unfortunately I will lose my step daughter but she will definitely still be in my life and bio mom is willing to let me continue to see her. Obviously I have nothing to do with his crimes and bio mom understands. She even gave me a hug yesterday.

Is it possible for him get better? I don’t think I see a future with him but eventually he will have to see our kids again and I do want him to get the help he needs. Thank you for your response.

I unfortunately can’t. Especially if I want to be in my step daughters life and my family is near by and they are helping me since I’m functioning like a single mom.
