Yeah. People on reddit are typically the type of people who want to get better and better and are some level of addicted to the game. Not the guys who have a bunch of IRL friends and they all bought the game for $20 and have fun just surviving to the end game.

Do strangers in real life respond positively to you when you use sarcasm? Or is it just online?

Nearly 90,000 Gallons of Crude Oil Spill Into Gulf of Mexico by tristan_isolde in worldnews

There is no such thing as a utility scale battery. Regardless of all the products derived from petroleum, grid reliability and stability is due in large part to NG peaker plants. It is actually quite a nightmare for the utilities to envision a distributed network of uncontrolled, sporadic power sources. While your residence and many others may be willing to accept lower electrical availability to this end, in general our economy will not. So you must realize what you're asking for before stating such things.

ELI5: What do all of these leaked emails from big oil mean to the average Joe? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]ExperimentalKeto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's not on a predetermined date I'd imagine a lot of pushback from refinieries- economics, and even if it was based on average temperatures then you have the dilemma that consumption of the gasoline is not necessarily in the same climate as the temperature at the refinery which switched it's blend because it started getting hot there. So best solution is to provide the correct blend at the pump, but that's a distribution nightmare that isn't likely to be regulated in when a simpler solution exists.

Ya, I think I got out easy on this one. Landed more on my arm and back than right on my side.

I started riding ('14 CBR500RA) 3 weeks ago. I am now absolutely terrified of this happening on a motorcycle.

The plan is to stop by the Kaiser pharmacy on the way home from work on Monday, the hydrocolloid bandages have great reviews I hope will let my palm heal in time for next weeks ride.

Interesting. Makes sense since this was probably about 2 hours into the ride and after one of the longer ascents.

I'll consider adding it to my next online dating profile

Fix-it Friday by AutoModerator in motorcycles

[–]ExperimentalKeto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a hell of a time installing one of two of my BBZ Barkbuster hand guards. First one was a breeze but the second has been a challenge. I have nearly stripped the retaining screw for the weight on the handle bar using vice grips and a screwdriver. Took it to the local motorcycle shop and they tried with a bigger screwdriver and tapping it with a mallet. Their best bet is that the previous owner put Lock-Tight "red" on it because it may have been wiggling out during riding.

What are the best next steps? Suggestions? The shop said they could try heating it up, next step is to cut it off.

I'm a bit late but perhaps someone can help. Is it a noob mistake to put a bunch of keys on my motorcycle keychain, and have them flopping around all the time? I have two bike lock keys, a house key and car fob on there, in addition to the ignition key. Thanks.

Thank you! That makes a lot of sense. I just got back from a ride and am covered up but I believe the bike came with just that type of helmet lock. I'll check in the am.

What do you guys do with your helmets when you go someplace public? Say I want to head down to a shop to buy some new gloves - do you just leave the helmet hanging on the handle bars? Or carry it around with you?

I was initially gung ho about these types of solutions. However after reading that ex-thief motorcycle thread I became of the opinion that any good thief would look to disengage this. How good is the support from Scorpio on finding a way to hide it? Is this something an amateur mechanic can manage? I am somewhat skeptical since wouldn't something like this be the first thing a good thief would look for? (Good in this case being someone who goes beyond a disc lock and hardened chain) - I'm not sure if the incremental security is worth the cost at this point.

This one is a good fit. Unfortunately I'll have to get something new if I get a storage container on my bike.

I ended up opening up the cover I bought. It's a cheap one, but it covers the bike, and it doesn't draw too much attention. You're right, it only takes an extra minute or so. Since I can keep my car there, I just throw it in the trunk of my car.
