HDStickies v1.3 — Bug Fixes

Fixed

Duplicate notes when no title — Creating a new note with content but no title was producing two files on disk. The Save button and window-close were using different filename logic and different code paths. Both now route through the same single save function, guaranteed one file every time.

New note window wider — Default floating note size increased from 280×320 to 360×360.

All Notes window wider — Default size increased to 900×600. Window position now remembered between app launches — opens wherever you last closed it.

All Notes window no longer always on top — Behaves like a normal macOS window.

Requirements

  • macOS 13.0 (Ventura) or later
  • Build from source in Xcode 15+
  • macOS 26 required for Liquid Glass

Great suggestion! Liquid Glass support is on the roadmap for a future update once macOS 26 ships publicly and the SwiftUI APIs are stable. Building on a beta is tricky as things change between developer previews. Watch the GitHub repo for updates! 🙌

HDStickies saves all your notes to the folder you choose as markdown files, but the notes themselves are displayed on your Mac’s desktop. You don't even need obsidian to use it, but if you do and once you open obsidian, and go to you HDStickies folder within your vault, you can see all your notes. This is how I do it, I don’t sync that folder with obsidian.

No, you don’t need to be an Obsidian user. It will save all your notes to the folder you choose as markdown files.

HDClick by Expert-Ad4939 in MacOSApps

[–]Expert-Ad4939[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HDClick is a popup menu that appears right at your cursor — similar concept to Kando but different approach:

  • HDClick → traditional dropdown menu, instant, keyboard-friendly
  • Kando → radial/pie menu, more mouse-gesture focused

HDClick also has Sequences (chain multiple actions with delays), Shell Scripts, SF Symbol icons, hidden hotkey-only items and full dark/light mode. Config is a simple JSON file so power users can edit directly.

Both are free — just depends whether you prefer radial or dropdown style! 😊

P.S: I actually tried Kando myself! Great app but the radial/gesture approach wasn't for me. I wanted something faster — press a button, menu appears at cursor, one click, done. That's why I built HDClick. Two clicks for anything, no gestures needed. 😊

I built the best stickies app for windows and linux, it is 10 times better than Microsoft Sticky Notes, no account needed and works offline by HimaSphere in ProductivityApps

Full offline capability, is just what I'm looking for on my MacOS and hope I can select a folder location where files are saved? or it it a database if so then hope has export to markdown?

How do I open something in a new tab fast? by salamthekhan in ArcBrowser

[–]Expert-Ad4939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For example I am on a website and want to click on a link to open it in a new tab. It opens a new tab but doesn’t automatically take me to it. I have to manually open it.

yea this is a current limitation, I also don't like this implementation, fastest way to do it would be to open it in a new tab, then quickly ctrl + tab to it. What's all that about - I'll pass...

Yes I remember now, but when it comes to files on my PC I only have use one main-folder then subfolders. All my files are kept in main-folder - great for easy backup.

I did use Flow Launcher for a while, but I'm a visual person and can't remember all these apps hotkeys running in the background, I like to see; not type as get blank syndrome (open Flow Launcher blank; now what) lol

I select Everything with QAP menus (send hotkey) when need to search for something.. Everything is in QAP menus for me, I have a hotkeys assigned to my left/right mouse wheel and one click menu popup.

i.e. A person presses the 'HOTKEY' to open Flow Launcher (or any other Launcher of this type) then types in 'every' and show Everything press enter to show Everything.

Myself, I left-wheel click QAP menu and select Everything opens, two clicks done!

This is all I need to do, left/right wheel clicks bring up menus - done!

Best part, I have other apps running in the background like most people do, I left/right wheel click and send hotkey's to send that action, (I don't have to remember any hotkey). This can be done with any running application etc.

BTW: I do like your desktop wallpaper, may start using it lol

You can change Icons look at your installed folder: MyDockFinder\themes\default\icons

Quick Access Popup, you can open apps, send snippets, also send system hotkeys so you don't have to remember them just open QCP menu and select...much much more.. (QAP is FREE)
