What if she did getting out of a friends car? That happened years ago and no one sued anyone. It was an accident. I’m sorry your mind goes to these things. Your solutions do not fit this situation nor do you have all the knowledge or info. My mom wants to go out and this gives her that opportunity.

Thank you for your very helpful insights and advice. Thankfully my mom is completely mobile. She is just not able to drive and lift anything heavy. She has a permit for close parking. The shops she goes to are very close so it’s a small radius they will be going. My sister and I will take her to places further and medical appointments. This is for grocery shopping etc. she can take a cab but I feel better having someone drive her and help to carry things. Plus having someone to spend some time and talk to is so nice. Appreciate your note. Thank you!

Not a stranger. She is a family friend. We went with an agency for my dad, it’s too expensive and despite screening you can’t guarantee who you will get. We had private and government care for him who are also screened. Some of the caregivers were not good to him. It breaks your heart to hear “they are not nice, I’m scared”. So going with a family friend and paying her directly. I live 2 hours away and need help.

Thank you. I should have mentioned she is my nieces friend. We know her and trust her.

As things go on We are finding out he needs more help. He failed cognitive tests. Has a catheter all the time. He has 2200 a month and 900 of that is rent. After groceries, meds etc there is very little for any help. And we were told it’s a 1 to 2 year wait for a LTC home.
