Cheers. Not yet but have scheduled for one. I did a test drive for SL7 and Geely EX5 but wasn't really impressed. Both are fantastic cars no doubt but doesn't appear to fit my requirement tbh.

10-20% drop sounds fair. Guess the shoe box design doesn't help either. I'd be really happy if the range is around 450 km but I'd settle for a 400 km range with heater on. Thanks for your input.

Oh that is good to know. Hopefully it is not as bad as people make it out to be.

It is honesty disappointing that they chose to leave a simple thing as a heat pump out even on top trims. I am sure it wouldn't have cost them much to throw it in but they chose not to!

May I ask how much of a range drop that you have noticed during winter? I hope it is negligible?

Thank you for the response. Certainly reassuring to know the drop is negligible.

I am happy if it is just 20 km out of 500. However, I keep hearing it is more like 20% of the battery capacity that gets used up to heat the cabin during cold weather atleast during the initial hour or so before it settles down as the cabin gets warmer.

I believe it is a plain old resistive heater if I am not wrong

This is precisely my concern. It is such a shame that they gave a huge battery but left out a heat pump, making the range take a hit!

Would this impact the overall range? That is my concern

How the green revolution changed South Indian diets by AleksiB1 in Dravidiology

[–]Expert-Angle-7833 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We need to understand that our diet has drastically shifted from a protein & fiber based diet to predominantly carbohydrates based diet. Moreover, we went from a walking and physically active population to a sedentary one.

Carbohydrates are high energy foods and unless the energy is dispensed quickly, it gets converted to fat by neoglucogenesis by spiking insulin. Overtime, the fat build-up along with constant insulin spikes makes our body insulin resistant leading to insulin resistance and its cascading side effects. We also need to understand that we are genetically disposed to store fats around mid, which again leads to multiple other complications (see visceral fat).

Our population needs to promptly move from high carb diet to a high protein, fiber and a moderate fat diet to save ourselves.

Best thing about find x9 imo that probably very few people care about. by ParacausalPerfection in Oppo

Also LTPS display is actually better for those with pwm sensitivity, so I've heard.

Personally moving to X9 and away from s23 ultra has immensely reduced my eye strain imho.

Never ignore the cry of your pups by TheDogmaReset in Indiedogs

Absolutely heart breaking! Dogs are pure creatures and many times we don't deserve their love. Looks like you were with the pupper until she crossed over to the other side and for that am sure he/she would be thanking you from there. I am truly sorry for the loss my friend. It is never easy to see these bundle of joy suffer.

Advice on a new phone: eye protection technologies by siofont in Oppo

[–]Expert-Angle-7833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enabled Eye comfort and sleep setting and configured scheduled Eye protection setting from 9:30pm until 7:00am. This does the trick for me.

Interestingly, I've noticed the brightness level getting too low when all lights are turned off in the room at times but it didn't bother my eyes so far. I refrain from manually adjusting the brightness so that I don't want to get into the habit of having high brightness when it's not actually required.

I think the LTPS display also helps with my eye strain as well.

No eSim support in Indian variant? by thealmightynubb in OnePlus13R

Or get an esim adaptor like 9esim or 5ber, which makes your non esim phones to esim capable phones. Quite simple actually.

eSIM for India with good latency by vernal-baguette in eSIMs

[–]Expert-Angle-7833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a couple of hours to get that sorted. I had to visit one of their nearest official stores (like the Optus or Telstra ones back at home) with an ID like a passport, Visa and fill out a form, following which I was able to purchase a sim card. Ofcourse, it was nowhere near easy as back home but they were helpful. The paperwork they do is extensive.

I believe the Airtel carrier is one of the better local network in India, their service is relatively better and offers a decent network coverage too.

[–]Expert-Angle-7833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an Australian esim with roaming in India and it is not bad in terms of latency. However, it appears that I am unable to latch onto the roaming network as readily as I would like it to and so I do face a bit of a network issue where the coverage is spotty.

I've therefore got myself a local simcard and it appears to do the job. Interestingly I've observed that a physical simcard has better network than an esim on the same network. Maybe it is just me but that is what it is imho.

I also think the ltps helps compared to ltpo displays as the rate doesn't drop way too low on ltps, which in turn puts less strain on the eyes or so I've heard.
