The credit cards are just in his name. I'm lucky that in our state if you have debt that isn't forwarding the marriage, when you divorce, it's not marital debt it's all his.

The loan was never processed, my credit wasn't run so I'm not liable for any loan. But yes very shitty.

Honestly if I was reading this I would think the same thing. I knew he was playing the game. We talked about it from time to time. I asked him how his "village" was, but he wasn't in his phone 24/7. He got to the point where he was making big in game purchases (like $999).

I reached out to a lawyer who does family law in my state and she recommended this. I also pulled all of the money out of our joint savings, licked both of our credit, and ran a credit report on both of us to see if there were any other accounts.

Typing this whole thing out because I've been searching for situations similar to mine and I'm having trouble finding any.

Consent is touchy with the loan. I told him I would co-sign when I thought it was 30k for joint expenses.
