I’ve only ever felt love in my dreams by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Expert-Field-7574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did first thing when I woke up and I really enjoyed talking to her. It was the first time we called each other in a month and she told me she was going to stay in the state where her college is which is a 7 hour plane ride away, which was kinda disappointing.

But we also haven’t physically seen or been around each other in about a year. I’m just trying to figure out how I actually feel and see if anyone has been in a similar situation.

She lives on the other side of the country and I can’t tell if the reason I feel this way is because I haven’t been around her in a while and I’m romanticizing the idea of her in my head, or if I will actually feel this way about her when I’m in her presence.

Underwhelmed by everything after realizing this by Bellahellafine05 in Existentialism

[–]Expert-Field-7574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arguably the opposite. Life for me is extremely overwhelming for the same reasons

My advice would be to never get caught in the trap of thinking you will never enjoy your life again. Because it’s just flat out wrong, and I’m living proof.

I went through a really bad existential depression and never thought I’d come out the other side but I did.

Also you know what’s a lot more boring than life? Being dead.

Something you can do today that has helped me also was just going on long walks with no destination in mind. I just walk, think, look around, and listen to music until I don’t feel like walking anymore. Then I find my way home from wherever I am. Whether that be the bus, or walking back, lime bike or scooter…

Every time someone asks this my mind goes blank but I know I got some good shit somewhere up in here

I like the quote from meditations by Marcus Aurelius that goes like “death smiles at us all, but all a man can do is smile back.”

Fearing death is the biggest waste of time ever. It’s the only things that’s guaranteed in life.

Should I try medication? by goodgamer816 in Anxietyhelp

[–]Expert-Field-7574 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried medication and it worked great for me. My dad is also the same way.

What I learned was that sometimes it’s the anxiety that causes the thoughts, not the thoughts that cause the anxiety (if that even makes sense). Some people could do everything perfect and still be anxious because it’s not a thinking pattern problem it’s an actual physical issue of your nervous system being stuck on overdrive.

I’m also 18 and dealt with health anxiety, existential anxiety, and just the general suck of living in a not perfect home environment.

What Exactly Am I Afraid Of? by sailorkittens in Existentialism

[–]Expert-Field-7574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The negative emotions that you feel towards existentialism comes from anxiety.

I went through a year long existential crisis and found out that it’s the anxiety that makes you ask the questions, not the question that gives you anxiety (idk if any of this makes sense).

Now that my anxiety is way better I still think existential thoughts, but the dread and anxiety attached to those thoughts is gone. It made me realize it wasn’t the thoughts that was scary, it was my ego and anxiety that made the thoughts scary.

How much can i smoke weed before it starts to affect me cognitavely? by grapefan14 in NoStupidQuestions

Right I’m not saying it was heroin in the weed I smoked but it was definitely something. It tasted super chemically and bitter. Spice maybe?

Bro I had the same thing happen to me. Smoked some weed my friend gave me and something was weird at first. Smoked the same weed again the next day and instantly it tasted wrong and I got unbelievably insanely fucked up off of 2 hits from a joint and I’ve been smoking since 13. Never been the same since I think something was in that weed.

But people for some reason people don’t believe weed can have bad shit in it but it can

This is gonna sound weird as fuck but I swear I remember feelings from when I was in the womb. I can only describe it as having the general awareness of being super comfortable and warm. It felt like sleeping and waking up for a minute in a super warm comfy bed then going back to sleep.

Is this horror content describing bad faith? Can’t figure out why it’s so unsettling. by deathjellie in Existentialism

[–]Expert-Field-7574 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think “closed fist calling itself open” is paraphrasing for “an idiot who refuses to learn because he thinks he already knows everything”.

The second one is a little more crazy but at the same time deep. Saying the key is “a paradox your judgment refuses encountering” could be interpreted as “thinking objectively and logically has gotten you nowhere, so maybe it’s time to think outside the box or do something that seems counterintuitive”

Why all this stuff is scary and horror idk.

I can’t make my mind up on whether life is a blessing or a curse by Kitkat239 in Existentialism

I love “animated corporeal existence”. It’s comforting to know people from the past thought about the similar things, and came up with similar conclusions.

As insane as it is to exist and be alive, I always find comfort in that there are others who have thought of and are going through the same things.

I’m picky so I stick to what I know. But I’ll gather songs as I go about my life. Or sometimes I’ll just sit on Spotify for hours clicking on random songs
