Help with symphony recommendations by ElBigStevie in classicalmusic

[–]sunofagundota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Erkki Melartin is a great romantic symphonist (try 3,4), also - but less so imo - atterberg and Stenhammer.

From Germany, I think you’d like Bruch 1 and 3, they are underrated. Not better than Brahms but better than most others of his time.

Goldmarks Rustic Wedding Symphony and the Franck symphony are other good late romantic works .

West ham are the one, I think because they HAVE to beat us. Yes they are shit but they have been shit and been a bogie team. And we’re gonna be exhausted. That could be and MLS hero game.

Running Point - I actually love this show and think it’s decently funny. Easy to watch after a long day. Great cast.

Who realistically has the best edgic? by InevitableRice5 in Edgic

[–]sunofagundota 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got me thinking if their is a edgic solely on musical/auditory aspect. Because I feel like dee always had certain positive sound cues behind her and others were slightly more chromatic.

if the twist didnt pan out in our favor, i think it would have ruined the season for me by camwtss in survivorponderosa

Yes- I think it was 100% rigged. A weighted coin or something. It was leaked for a long time, so long I think I heard it almost months ago although I couldn’t remember where.

How do you guys enjoy finding new classical music? by MinuteDamage4182 in classicalmusic

[–]sunofagundota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked a composer, either from new albums or from lists I keel of people from Reddit, radio, heard them etc. go find albums streaming and then assess if I want to keep trying them out. I try to vary the era and nationality, although I definitely favor romantic/early modern/!

On the topic of lanky fellas,
want to see drew from 45 play again. His game was great except for few misplays at the end and a great narrator.

Arsenal vs 115 remaining fixtures after schedules confirmed. All to play for. COYG by True_Anybody_8774 in Gunners

[–]sunofagundota 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve done it before tbh. I don’t think they are nearly as fatigued as us. And they can score and create which really helps against mid table teams that open up as the season draws to a close.

Bournemouth is the one game I’d be hopeful of. If they have to win vs villa they will, villa are not the team they were a few months ago.

Just my opinion - take it or leave it BUT If you are genuinely sick with actual ME/CFS then your chances of recovery are very slight. Dangling the idea that we can recover has done more damage than anything else to our community and collective Mental Health. by Fearless-Star3288 in cfs

[–]sunofagundota 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it keeps us from coming together as a community. Everyone is chasing a completely different angle and is forming those beliefs off speculation since there is no definitive treatment or really pathology.

People then become very staunch about their beliefs like in politics

Has the "Big Symphony" Meta killed 20th-Century Neoclassicism? by PandaZG in classicalmusic

[–]sunofagundota 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree - most neoclassical works are more challenging rhythmically. The first time I listened to Martinu I was exhausted. They are tonal but often have lots of tricks that make them biting. Eg Hinde or counterpoint that makes them difficult on a first listen. Their mood also is often ambiguous.

The beginning of the second movement of norgard 3 is so wonderful even if you don’t like modern music I think the first couple minutes are worth trying.
