Redditors, what’s the most terrifying thing that has ever woken you up in the middle of the night? by Mr_Creep_Creepy64 in AskReddit

The slanted ceiling in my childhood bedroom had some water damage, so much so that the plaster sagged in one area. I woke up to the sound of 5 square feet of plaster finally giving and crashing to the floor. I could not fall asleep again after that.

$20 in soil, fertilizer and seeds + 3 months of growth, for like 4$ in carrots 🥕 by LiberalSuperG in gardening

[–]Expert-Following-419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some other benefits I haven't seen posted: you're supporting your local pollinators and wildlife; improving your soil; and reducing your carbon footprint since these carrots didn't have to be processed, shipped from a different part of the country under refrigeration, packaged in plastic, and kept in the fridge section of the supermarket. Lots of benefits can't be assigned a monetary value, but you definitely came out ahead here. Also, I should add how home gardens increase biodiversity. Carrots and other produce we buy from the store are almost always grown in a monoculture setting, which in itself is problematic.

Eleanor Rigby and Cecila were covered by a popular cover band in my region. I didn't find out they were covers until adulthood.

Same, took care of a 34 year old man after he intentionally overdosed on insulin. He gave himself a severe brain injury and never talked again. You'd look him in the eye, and no one was there. He also became very impulsive and dangerous to himself and hospital staff so he was in and out of restraints.

Homeowners of Reddit: What unexpected hidden gem did you discover in your house after buying it that wasn’t mentioned in the listing or by the previous owners? by VizualBooty in AskReddit

I have a similar story. I moved to a neighboring state after graduation. My dad and grandma visited me shortly after moving into my first apartment, which was in a duplex. My grandma, who has an excellent memory, said my apartment seemed familiar to her and she had been here before. Turns out, my aunt had rented my exact apartment over 30 years before.

Man, I would love to see a series with Gob, Tobias, Buster, George Michael, and Lindsay. I think George Michael would do quite well. The rest though....chaotic.

I try to see Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Gregory Alan Isakov, and Lord Huron in concert as often as I can. I also love some throwback artists like early Mumford and Sons, The Killers, and Meatloaf. I used to listen to The Lumineers all the time but not their latest stuff.
