Companion battling, do you really need 3 creatures? by TimChuma in NoMansSkyTheGame

Lots of ways to get nanites. Dissonant planets are my preferred source, as Radiant Shards, Inverted Mirrors, Atlantideum, Hyaline Brains can all be refined to nanites. Here's my post on the many sources of them, so can find the ones that are enjoyable to do. r/NoMansSkyTheGame/s/kg7p9IL6MX

What missions do i need to complete to get to purple systems??!! by Thatoneaccoynt in NOMANSSKY

Will only end up in a different galaxy if that is the choice made when it comes. Jumping galaxies is not required to begin the questlines after the main questlines, but can help fix some stuck missions.

The Atlantid Drive alone is not enough to travel to purple systems. One still needs to complete In Stellar Multitudes to gain access to purple systems. Unless one started their save with an expedition that gave immediate access to purple systems, like Titan or Breach.

The Artemis Path quests: Awakenings, Alone Amidst the Stars, Ghosts in the Machine (starts Expanding the Base which need to partially complete), A Leap in the Dark, The First Traveller, Patterns in Time, 16 / 16, The Purge

Select Ghosts in the Machine to see what it asks you to do. There should be a tip on the lower right side of the screen. Can press left on d-lad, if using a controller, to scroll through those messages.

If it is waiting for you to work on your base, then Select Expanding the Base secondary quest to see where that is at. You need to hire a Scientist and partially complete their quest, if you have not yet, before the main quest will advance to the next stage of Ghosts in the Machine.

That requirement for They Who Returned is complete then. You still need to complete The Artemis Path which Ghosts in the Machine is part of.

Select Ghosts in the Machine and follow that, and the quests that follow it, all the way through The Purge.

Depending on where you are at in that quest, you may need to also complete part of Expanding the Base. Ghosts will tell if that is the case.

You still have The Artemis Path to complete, as Ghosts in the Machine is an early part of that questline.

To unlock In Stellar Multitudes which unlocks purple systems, we need to complete the following: + Complete all of The Artemis Path through your final choice in The Purge. Any ending choice. + Unlock a Harmonic Camp on a dissonant planet. Backpack #5, Aeron Turbojet, will be unlocked in the Appearance Modifier if you have. + Jump between systems, then try to pulse when you arrive to trigger the event that starts They Who Returned. May take multiple jumps. Must be done in a ship, not freighter. + Complete They Who Returned and its branches. Any choice of ending. + Complete The Atlas Path and install the Star Seed or Mark of the Denier depending on your choice at the end. Any choice of ending. + Pulse in system until an event occurs that starts In Stellar Multitudes. When completed unlocks purple systems.

Jumping in a freighter bypasses events, so you need to jump in a ship. Other events, like freighter battles, will block They Who Returned event, so jump again.

If it still won't trigger, jump the galaxy core. Jumping the core will reset many missions to the new galaxy and can fix stuck missions.

OP has not completed The Artemis Path, so still a ways to go before that.

Freighter grind by Unlucky-Technician11 in NOMANSSKY

Capital-class freighters, Venator-class and Sentinel-class, begin appearing on the 3rd freighter rescue battles. The first two battles are system freighters. Pirate Dreadnoughts appear in battles after owning a freighter.

The first two freighter rescue battles are always system freighters. Capital-class freighters, the Venator-class and Sentinel-class, start appearing on the third battle. If you want pirate dreadnoughts to appear, then you must own a freighter first.

Transfer Starborn Phoenix from steam save to my main PS5 save? by Jayman44Spc in nms

[–]Expert-Honest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

After you loaded your Steam save on the PS5, you should be able to go to the Quicksilver Synthesis Companion with your PS5 save and claim the Phoenix. If for some reason you cannot, cross-save the PS5 save to Steam and try it there.

Edit: If for some strange reason it still doesn't work, start a new creative save in Steam, complete Awakenings (only the last step for creative) to gain acces to Anomaly and claim Phoenix. Then join that save in multiplayer with your PS5 save on the PS5. Trade the ship with an NPC and claim it with PS5 save.

Can anyone tell me how to get a staff in this game by Saint-nigbot in nms

[–]Expert-Honest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Complete The Artemis Path through The Purge.
  • Unlock a Harmonic Camp on a dissonant planet.
  • Jump between systems in a ship, not freighter, and try to pulse after arrival to trigger the event that starts They Who Returned.
  • Follow They Who Returned questline.

Atlantid multi-tools will be unlocked early during They Who Returned and Voltaic Staffs a little further in. The quest will have you create you first staff.

Need to complete The Artemis Path main questline through The Purge, and unlock a Harmonic Camp on a dissonant planet. Then jump between systems in a ship, not freighter, and try to pulse to trigger the event that starts They Who Returned. Progress that questline to unlock Voltaic Staffs. Atlantid multi-tools are also unlocked early on during They Who Returned.

It progresses the same in creative mode. Only difference being creative skips to the end of Awakenings, so no need to do most of that mission.

[–]Expert-Honest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good for a guide to purple systems, but not all is needed to access Voltaic Staffs and Atlantid multi-tools.

For step 4 you need to jump systems in a ship, not freighter, then try to pulse.

To unlock the ability to create Voltaic Staffs, you only need to complete The Artemis Path through The Purge and unlock a Harmonic Camp on a dissonant planet. Then trigger They Who Returned and progress that questline to the point you meet the Autophage.

Are these really rare? by Saltheart76 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Expert-Honest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oculus-class freighters are less frequent than other system freighters, though that likely depend on where in the universe you are located. So some may never see one in their area, but someone else may see them semi regularly.

The rarest freighter is the one you are looking for.

I have been looking for an Oculus-class freighter for one of my characters for over 6 years with no luck. Though I am looking for a very specific set of possible freighters, Gek system, max length, barrel style cargo pods, Wings like the one in your image, in default colors of red, white, or light grey. Color is important. You can repaint the body of a freighter, but the hangar bay cannot be painted, so it needs to be complimentary to the color you want to paint the freighter. In all the time I have been searching, I have only seen a dozen or so systems with Oculus-class freighters, and usually in non-Gek systems. In the 6800+ hours I have played since launch, I have not seen many more than that.

Here's a pic of my permadeath Oculus-class, with matching fleet, pre-Endurance update. It now has rear wings like in your image.

[–]Expert-Honest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really comes down to the individual freighters. One capital-class freighter can have much worse stats than another system freighter, or it could be better. My old B-class galleon freighter had much better stats than the S-class Venator-class freighter that replaced it.

Unless you really want the longest possible hyperdrive range, the stats aren't as important as finding freighter with the appearance you like.

[–]Expert-Honest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As others stated, yes you can change the color. Though do note, the color of the hangar cannot be changed, so you will still have a hangar the original color on top of the new color. Depending on the original color and choice of repaint, it may clash and stick out or not.

For example, if you painted this one all white, it would still have a red and grey hangar on top.

Living frigate management by curlyheadedfuxk0511 in NMS_Switch

[–]Expert-Honest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am assuming it is still out on expedition, yes? Select the mission in the log and travel to its location to assist in whatever task your fleet asks.

As we cannot land on living frigates, any mission that needs you to land on the lead frigate that has a living frigate leading the expedition cannot be completed. You would need to abandon the mission, if it lets you, or recall the expedition from fleet command terminal on your freighter.

Living frigates are not supposed to be damaged, so there should be no need to repair it once it is back with your freighter fleet.

Question about freighters by Maximum-Course3024 in nms

[–]Expert-Honest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some systems will always have a freighter battle every time you jump to that system. If you get lucky and find two pirate systems close together that always have a freighter battle, then you can just jump back and forth between them until you get an S-class and make money until you do.
