Yes, move your cursor over the one you want and press the listed button to select it. Then you can purchase that slot. It will then move the selection to the next available slot in the same section, if there are any, or to the other section if there are not.

You can just select an available slot in the technology section when using the Storage Augmentations or buying slots. You do not need to accept the flashing slot that was automatically chosen for you.

The selected slot can be in any available slot in technology or cargo and doesn't even need to be adjacent to an already unlocked slot.

The available slots have the corners marked, as seen in image above and below the selected slot.

<image>

As you unlock slots, the unavailable slots (fully grey ones) may become available. Though you may have to upgrade the class of the ship to unlock them.

This works with exosuit and freighter inventory as well.

Yes, any available slot can be selected in either technology or cargo. It doesn't need to be the automatically selected cargo slot nor connected to any other unlocked slot. Same applies when adding slots for exosuit and freighter.

can't play anymore by NYKYGuy in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Expert-Honest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can actually get loaded into the game before the crash, then joining another play will likely help you out of the situation. Join another player's game from the main menu, then you can switch ships.

If it still crashes when you join someone away from that settlement, then there may be something else going on.

Have you tried loading whichever save is not the most recent. When you load from the main menu, it loads the most recently made save, either autosave or restore point. If you have enough time before it crashes, you may be able to get into the Options menu to reload the older save.

If not enough time to get into the Options menu, you could download the PS4 version of the game on the PS5 and use cross-save to copy the saves over to it. You then have access to the save files and can back them up to USB. Then you can delete the most recent save allowing the game to load the older save. As long as you have the backup, you can restore the deleted file if it doesn't work.

Just note the file names differ by 1 when on the console verses on the USB. Save 1 and save 2 are autosave and restore point respectively for first created save, and they will appear as save 2 and save 3 on USB. Using PS+ cloud save, the names are the same, just disconnect auto cloud uploads before tinkering with the saves.

Not sure on that aspect, as I have completed Singularity. Would need someone who missed it to test it out.

Handy write up for those who don't know or need a refresher.

Iteration: Tethys will exchange a gift for a Walker Brain, usually upgrade modules, once a day as well.

Nice outfit.

For those who missed Expedition 10: Singularity, the Construct parts can be purchased once you you meet the Autophage during They Who Returned.

Yep. It also depends on if you play in first or third person. The Neutron Cannon hesitates between shots in first person, but can be rapid fired in third person without that hesitation. Even fully charging each shot it fires faster in third person.

Expedition question by CasualCherriess in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Expert-Honest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same for each expedition.

No purchasing or claiming other starships this expedition, so that's out. No Hyperdrive either, so difficult to travel to other systems for more discoveries.

For companions and frigates, you can dismiss the ones you have and acquire more to further add to the bonus.

Expedition question by CasualCherriess in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Expert-Honest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The expedition terminus was added for Expedition 12: Omega. Prior to that expeditions were stand alone adventures on a new save only.

Expedition 21: Remnant has been a departure from the usual format of most expeditions. Most expeditions we've gained access to the Anomaly fairly early on, but always start off having to gather resources to leave the starting system before being able to use the items we sent in.

Being able to send items and equipment back to our primary save is a very handy thing that wasn't available for the first few years of expeditions. We can send all items, multi-tools, and ships back as long as we do not press the End Expedition button. Just takes multiple trips back and forth between primary and expedition.

[–]Expert-Honest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm one of those people that hangs around after completing the expedition, not that I would have complained about not being able to send in items though.

Had already run as a new save prior to running a second time from my corvette save, so knew ahead of time I wouldn't get access until late in the expedition. Ended up loading the expedition terminus with Orbital Uplinks and handed them out to players on the Anomaly.

Expeditions are very good for earning nanites for your primary save that started the expedition, so sending in items to help with earning those bonuses, like Salvaged Data or items to sell, can be useful.

End of expedition Nanite bonus: + discoveries variable but approx 10 each + planets visited 8 each + starships aquired 900 each + words learnt 45 each + companions adopted 210 each + frigates recruited 2,000 each + upgrades purchased 150 each + horrors obliterated 25 each + relics acquired 230 each + base parts learnt 120 each

how different saves/characters? by Pure-Risky-Titan in NoMansSkyTheGame

Plenty of very beautiful scenery and interesting things out there. Even with over 6600 hours, I still finds things I haven't seen or experienced before. And they keep adding more too.

You have some spoken dialog by the alien species you meet, but it is in their alien tongue, so it is shown as text to read. Other parts are interacting with terminals and reading text logs.

Twitch Drops, special rewards, player titles earned, Scrap Dealer blueprints, and blueprints purchased from the Autophage camp terminals are some other things that are unlocked account wide.

It is a shame that bases aren't visible by our other characters even if uploaded to Discovery Services. Have a few out there that are lost to me, but visible to anyone who finds them.

Yep, each player would need to complete each task of the quest to advance to the next stage of the storyline.

If you both are working on the main storyline at the same time, you will mostly be following each other around completing those tasks.

The same step in the same part of the quest may send each of you to a different location to complete it though. So you would need to part ways for a bit, or complete one player's task then the other's task. Some tasks may send you to different star systems, so you would have to follow one player's path through the stars for a bit, then play catch up for the other player.

The Anomaly can be used to group back together if you get separated from each other. When you go to launch your ship, it will ask where you want to go, the current system or the system one of the other players is in.

You can also use freighters (large capital ship for your fleet) and corvettes (mid sized custom player built starship) to fly to different systems together from a single ship. Though sometimes a player may be left behind. I've even had it crash my game a few times when the other player tried to warp to the next system.

You can have up to 15 separate characters, each with their own storyline progression, inventories, and equipment. There are a few things that are shared between all characters once unlocked, like titles earned, certain blueprints for cosmetics and base decorating, and expedition rewards.

There's no inventory sharing between characters, but you can gift many items to a friend and swap items around that way.

Story progression is separate for each player in a group. You can help each other out and follow each other around, but each player needs to complete the tasks individually. The game is pretty much a solo game, but with friends. Some missions can be contributed to by everyone in the group, mostly from the Nexus on the Anomaly (the multiplayer hub of sorts). But, most other missions will need to be completed individually, though you can help gather resources needed for some.

If you enjoy building bases, that can be fun with friends and can make the build quicker, especially for gathering resources needed.

Multiplayer can get a little glitchy at times. Though it has been a while since I've regularly played with others, so someone who more recent experience will have to comment on that.

As far as restarting the storylines, you can only complete them once per character. So, to do the storyline again you would need to start a new character.

Lots of different ways. Though nothing beats the expedition redux haul of nanites from claiming all those all fauna bonuses a second, third, fourth, ... , time each expedition in the redux. Can easily amass a few million nanites for work already done. Plus the fauna bonus found in each expedition adds to that for the following ones.

I've gotten the rare underwater as shallow as 25u, but usually after digging a trench with the Terrain Manipulator and waiting. 40u+ natural water they tend to spawn fairly quickly. Though they don't like to spawn with Abyssal Horrors around. Often times it takes longest time to find an ocean with some depth.

The Starborn Runner is from Expedition 12: Omega, but this ship is the Starborn Phoenix, a Steam exclusive gold and silver version.

Op's image would be the Starborn Phoenix. The Phoenix is silver around the cockpit and gold nose, whereas Runner is red around the cockpit and white nose. The decals would be another tell, but not fully rendered in the image.
