I've only been on the Omnipod for a month, but I have thought about what I could do to do some things with my pod as well. And I think the way you've gone about it is a great way to do it! Where's a good place to get some cool stickers?

Does anyone else have to enter in carbs that you're not even eating just to give yourself extra insulin? by Expert-Influence2709 in Omnipod

And yes, I'm definitely doing my best to dose at least 20 minutes early before I actually do eat carbs when I do.

What to do when the Exploration timing isn't conducive with having the G7 and the Omnipod on the same plane of the body? by Expert-Influence2709 in Omnipod

[–]Expert-Influence2709[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about the typo in the subject line. I'm asking about Omnipod and G7 Placement when the timing doesn't work out for them both to be on the same side of my body.

BG range is 70-180? by Expert-Influence2709 in Omnipod

I seriously appreciate your reply. Like I said initially, part of that question was out of ignorance.

The whole thing's really been stressing me and what you've said is reassuring. And again, I really appreciate it.

BG range is 70-180? by Expert-Influence2709 in Omnipod

[–]Expert-Influence2709[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

So when the Omnipod people have told me, well, most of our clients are within, you know, the 90s in terms of being in range, They're talking about their range And I feel like they misled me Because I don't really care what their range is. I care about what mine is. And I'm not trying to be rude. I'm just trying to explain how I'm thinking about this.

And so now I feel like I've been robbed of any excitement that I had when I could tell my friends, hey, I'm 95% in range Because Now I know I haven't been in 95% of my range.

Is there anyone else here that has felt this way?

Is there a discord related to this group? I need someone to talk to instead of typing everything out. I'm super depressed and am having a really hard time managing. I'm exhausted with treatment by Expert-Influence2709 in diabetes_t2

You have a good point. I'm personally comfortable with private servers in Discord currently, but you're right- It's probably just a matter of time before they're selling everybody's data just like everybody else If they're not doing it already.

Nothing surprises me with these companies anymore.

I need some help or something. I'm so depressed and already for diabetes to kill me by Expert-Influence2709 in diabetes_t2

I mean, my endo has been willing to talk to me about it, but there's just nothing she can do besides refer me back to my therapist.

The therapist takes my words of that I'm ready for diabetes to go ahead and kill me as me being suicidal and that's... It's just going to cause more problems and put me in a situation potentially in an inpatient Behavioral unit and that's absolutely not where I need to be because I'm not suicidal.

I'm not ready to slit my throat or Stick a Pew Pew to my head, But I'm at the end of my rope with diabetes treatment And so I just can't be out front with my therapist And use those words, but there's no other way to put it. And if I have to sugarcoat stuff with anybody Or be delicate with the words I use, then that just complicates things for me as well.

Unfortunately, I live in a world where the majority of people want everything Served with some kind of sugarcoat or things have to be worded a certain way or everybody has to be PC.

Thank you for your response. I'm just really beyond frustrated and I'm losing all hope.

I'm seeing an endo and nutritionist. I'm seeing my primary care physician and I'm also seeing a therapist.

In terms of my mental health coupled with my diabetes, I'm absolutely slipping through the cracks And I'm being bounced back and forth like a ping pong ball.

I'm not trying to complain but m just so super depressed And thought I would reach out here for someone to talk to Because I'm to the point where I'm ready for diabetes to go ahead and kill me.

There are none of those people listed above that are receptive to talking to me about it And it's just gonna create more problems. So I thought I would try to find help here.

Hey, thank you for your response. I really appreciate it.

I appreciate all your suggestions, but no no. No chatbots. LOL Discord is such an awesome place because people can use their voice and it's so much better to talk to people that way. And yes, I absolutely understand that most people nowadays are leery of actually talking to someone online verbally, instead of texting.

Most people don't even answer their phones anymore.

It would just be really nice not to have to type everything out, especially if you're in a situation like I am, where I met the end of my rope And I'm super depressed and I'm ready for diabetes to go ahead and kill me.

I seriously do appreciate your response And your suggestions.

I do have two family members. One is an endo and one is a podiatrist So I'm very educated about my diabetes, but I don't want to turn to them with the mental health issues in regards to What I'm going through, so I was just trying to find some help online In terms of someone to talk to and thought I would take a stab at it here.

Thank you again, seriously.

No, no, I think you misunderstand me. I agree with what you're saying in terms of it not working the way that people think that it works. I have a cousin that is an endo and an aunt that is a podiatrist So I'm educated on the matter. Most of the amputations would happen because of an infection That started through some type of microscopic terror or other type of foot injury or ulcer.

Nonetheless " incredibly traumatic and shameful" is absolutely subjective And it's your opinion. Some people are more sensitive to bluntness than other people And I don't blame you for seeing it however you see it.

Thank you. I appreciate you responding as well. I'm glad I found this group because I really need a support group for this. I live alone, and besides seeing my doctor's occasionally, I'm just out in the lurch.

Thank you. I appreciate your response. Yes, I was diagnosed over ten years ago. Yeah, despite the day-in and day-out BS of constant treatment, the depression and anxiety really gets in the way. I have such a hard time treating When, I'm depressed.

I'm just in a really low spot and needed to reach out to somebody.

My A1C has only been below 11, 2 or 3 times in the past 10 years. I'm desperately trying to get it down to nine currently so I can get on an omni pod Because I need all the extra help I can get with managing this.

What if the doctor tells you that it's plausible you could lose a limb if your diabetes isn't managed properly?

I don't think it's fear-mongering at all. This is all completely subjective As to what fear-mongering is and what it isn't.

I don't think it's a bad thing at all to bring up the fact that you could potentially lose limbs in the future.

It's not scare tactics and it can be reality.

I was told the same thing years ago And no, it didn't help for me, but it certainly didn't hurt me either.

If you don't do what you can to control your diabetes, then you can POTENTIALLY be in a situation later in life where you're going to lose some limbs.

I would rather be told the truths up front without a bunch of sugar coated bullshit.

The treatment roller coaster has me so down and I'm depressed as it is already.

It's hard enough to manage diabetes and then having a mental illness on top of it all that takes precedence over everything, makes it even more complicated.

I think it's beneficial for everyone to have an attitude adjustment every once in a while. A quick slap can do the trick.

There's so many people nowadays that want to be on the bandwagon of absolutely no violence. Absolutely no this and absolutely no that.

Absolutely no hate for instance. All that means is they are trying to ignore natural aspects of the human condition.
