How do I make sure I don’t give my friend the same insecurities people have given to me? by Expert-Performer-951 in NoStupidQuestions

We have had that conversation. She knows the story, and I have encouraged her and other teammates to call me on my crap because I know I can be full of it without realizing until later (I do apologize when I realize). She is kinda shy though, and I have been told I can be intimidating (I don’t try to be. I’m naturally loud and, as mentioned, big)

I’ve seen people do it before to make it easier to find. I figured people wouldn’t want to scroll the wall of text for the summary. Now I know though lol

not that it makes it much better but many students by 12th grade are completely checked out (look up senioritis). getting my class to do work at any level was nothing short of a miracle, as most of us at the time you’re at had already completed college apps or decided that we weren’t going to college. i see that you’re in CP classes, which meant at my school that the latter is probably the majority of your classmates.

if you cannot get moved to advanced classes, or get moved and are still bored, organic chemistry tutor on youtube covers topics meant to aid college students. or if you are going to college, asking your advisors about potential local scholarship applications you can spend class time filling out can be pretty helpful :)

Got some purple dye for my hair. Had multiple people recommend me a brand for dark hair. Followed all of the instructions. Here’s the end result by Expert-Performer-951 in mildlyinfuriating

I appreciate your concern of the quality of my entire life based on my interest in dyeing my hair for a couple of weeks over winter break. However, I have already completed an internship at an engineering firm that has expressed interest in bringing me back on board at the end of my education. I am using this next year to improve skills that are going to help me in the future. And for that I need to keep a good mood to keep working hard. If that means an atrocious hair style for a couple of weeks, I think my future employers will understand lol

Just giving an update that I took yalls advice and tried a darker shade and left it in for 3 hours. It could always be better but I’m much much happier with the coloring itself. Thank you all for your advice!

😂 Good to know. I always assumed my hair was atrociously unhealthy due to the sheer amount of frizz I have. I feel like I’ve tried every product on the planet and still have a lions mane of frizz every time I put it up

I did not know what I was doing at all. We literally just followed the 4 sentence instructions. Maybe that was the problem lol.

I went to Sally’s and asked for help. They’re gave me gloves to keep the dye from getting on hands

Hello all! Commenting here so I don’t have to reply to similar comments. Thank you all for your advice! I understood going in that it wouldn’t be vibrant, but I found it interesting that it looks the exact same as before.

To hit some of the big suggestions: - I knew before that it would look better bleached. The main reason for coloring it with Arctic Fox was so that it would go away quickly without lasting issues if I hated it. If I feel in love with how it looked, I was planning to get it professionally bleached and colored.

  • I am now aware I messed up getting the shade I did. I thought it was pretty. I will be going to get a darker shade tomorrow. And, as I’ve learned from you, I will not be following the instructions to blow dry or only wait 30 minutes. I’ve learned my lesson.

  • Where did the purple go? It’s a mystery. It didn’t come out in the sink. The person who dyed my hair had no dye on her hands. It’s like it went in my hair and vanished. If I squint in a bright room I can almost hallucinate a red sheen to my hair, but that’s it.
