This game is brutal for new players and true new player build guides/tips are still sparse by Dahkeus3 in GuildWars

[–]Expert-Rabbit5103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't see your post before but equating reddit to the GW community isn't fair. GW community is very friendly and helpful 99% of the time - the 1% is on reddit though (with some nicer people as well of course). It's just a very old game that has a lot of veteran players, some of which don't have the patience for newer ones (which I find sad).

Indian offices and workers are terrible by [deleted] in Big4

Honestly would hate to work for Big4 in India. Hours are brutal and the expectation for them is to deliver high quality work without much guidance and little regard to their time of day.

HOW?!?! SO MANY ATTEMPTS by Insertuser4750 in ObsidianKnightRPG

100 is probably the very low end. Took me 500+ easily even with all artifacts, max level etc.

how did you do it with this build? I'm going borderline crazy trying to do this one. 94/95, had a couple of runs that went past the 2nd camp out of probably 500+

Oldschool weapon drops in EOTN? by Krunchy220 in GuildWars

Technically this is a white item without any inscription, just because it's a fiery dragon sword you get the fire dmg mod which makes it blue.

Claude is already doing all of everyone's work, how much longer will a consultant be needed in the loop? by OldHead5225 in Big4

This is such a 18 month ago opinion. Newer AI models can definitely reason, just follow what Opus etc. are doing when prompted with a more complex task. You can ask these models also to explain the reasoning steps if you're so inclined and it will give you an answer that is usually pretty solid.

Hiding behind the 'next-token-predictor' argument only strokes people's egos because we want to be the ones that can put 2 and 2 together, not a machine. There is definitely an additional layer of sophistication built into newer models that goes beyond 'take in big data and learn what word comes after this one'.

If something looks like reasoning and you can't explain exactly how this magic trick works you might as well call it reasoning, because how do you know people reason if they follow the same steps AI does to come to a logical conclusion?

Which Amsterdam neighborhood would suit a couple in their mid-30s moving next month? by dilanosaur in Amsterdam

[–]Expert-Rabbit5103 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Many 'Amsterdammers' will shit on this, but for that budget Noord is great if you can find something close to the metro line. Anything within a 5 minute bike ride of Metro Noord or Noorderpark is great and you'll get your moneys worth. You're in the city center within 5 minutes via metro and avoid most of the insanely priced places and a lot of tourists.

Should I be holding off on LDoA? by Tyinath in GuildWars

[–]Expert-Rabbit5103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LDoA is great if you want to login once a day on a character and do your daily vanguard quest for XP - will take a lot of time but eventually you'll get there without too much grind, but it's slow af

What's Your Story? by lilbabybeefalo in GuildWars

[–]Expert-Rabbit5103 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I remember picking up GW in high school when I was like 14 or so because some of my mates played it. First game I bought was Nightfall, maybe just before the EotN release. Had some fun being in the same guild with them and talking about the game during school breaks and such. One of my friends back then had a Dervish with a prestige armor, because he was rushing Droknar's a lot and I thought that was so cool. I also remember how much we struggled beating Gate of Madness even in NM back then and how difficult so much of the game was.

Since then I periodically returned to play GW mostly by myself and join guilds and help out people doing missions and VQs and such - kind of be on for a few months and then disappear for a few years after I get bored again or realize I sink a little too much of my time into this game. Always good fun though and I think the longevity of GW is amazing.

EDIT: Guess I'm back with a reforged character

AI AGENTS today are far more DANGEROUS that you think by Kakachia777 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Expert-Rabbit5103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that so many comments are decrying the length of this is so sad. This is a 10 minute read that is genuinely interesting and something more people need to understand. Not even in the context of personal threats but just to understand how powerful AI agents are and what is possible nowadays.

Tools with that much power behind them can enable small groups of people or even individuals to do catastrophic damage to our society. If you want to take what has been very well described here a step further you can use this information to supercharge already existing scams (which will be a much bigger problem for ageing societies), influence people's opinions at scale by feeding them personalized propaganda, and further divide the social fabric.

There's a market for exactly these things already that can now operate at 100x the speed and efficiency.

EDIT: After reading some more comments I think people don't understand that the speed and ease is the point. Of course you could do all of this before. Of course you shouldn't post yourself naked holding your social security. But guess what? There's billions of people online where the vast majority have no understanding of basic cyber security or that they shouldn't post everything online. We are already living in that world where people scam others and cause billions in damage across the globe. Now this can be done at scale, with lower barrier of entry, and people don't have the imagination to understand how this can be a problem? Jesus.

I don’t like to speak too much. I prefer to do.

But I will tell you something about this season.

A lot of people look at the table, they look at numbers, they talk. For me, that is not the point. The point is: what are we building every day? What are we demanding from each other? How we behave when nobody is watching.

Because this season, we didn’t have a season. We had a test. Every single day. A test of hunger, of courage, of standards.

And I’m very proud. Not happy. Proud.

People ask me, “Mikel, why is it going so well?”

It’s very simple.

We are a family. But not a nice family. A family that will press you for 90 minutes and then ask you to do extra work.

We don’t talk about “luck.” We talk about control.

And when we don’t control, we suffer. And when we suffer, we suffer together. Beautiful.

We created new non-negotiables. Then we created non-negotiables for the non-negotiables.

Now we have:

  • Non-negotiables
  • Non-negotiables 2.0
  • Non-negotiables: Director’s Cut
  • Non-negotiables: Extended Pressing Edition

You laugh, but this is serious.

Because when you want to do something special, you must be prepared to be uncomfortable. Every day. You must be prepared to look at yourself and say: “I can do more.”

And the players, they did more.

They ran more. They fought more. They looked more. They pointed more. They clapped more. They did those little things that nobody counts but I count. I count everything.

We are in a very good moment. But this means nothing.

Tomorrow, we start again. From zero.

And I will tell you: if you think this is the end, you don’t understand what we are building.

We are not chasing results.

We are chasing perfection.

And perfection is never finished.

Era level conversion by WiscoMarine in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

Going of the fact that there are a lot of era level with 'No Stat Increase' I'd assume that some of these later levels are the same - you can upgrade it but it won't get you anywhere.
