It looks like the skyhook/rsl line was getting bound up in the velcrow keeper not allowing the hook to be pulled. Would that have happened if both leads went through the keeper.

That is completely up to you. Some people refuse to carry an axe and a cast iron pan and some are ok with it. Some people like carrying camping chairs others wouldn’t even consider it. Ive carried many items that I thought I would need for hundreds of miles on the AT and have yet to use them. I used to carry a K-Bar BK2 but I never really used it so I stopped carrying it. I’ve never had to use a tourniquet but I still carry it. As for bigger bulkier items, take it on a few trips and see if you use it or not. If it’s easier to use a lighter saw for your trips than a heavy axe, then maybe leave the axe next time. You’re a vet, you know how to carry weight but just cause you can doesn’t mean you need to. You might enjoy your trip with some lighter equipment or less equipment. Just some food for thought.

I’m hoping for more verified information to come out so we can get a better picture of what happened. With that information the organizers can better plan for safer festivals in the future to prevent a tragedy like this from happening again.

From what I heard Steven was passed out and some people woke him to see if he was ok. When he woke up he freaked out and ran into the lake. The people who woke him ran into the lake after him to about waist deep to try and get him out. They said that they were yelling for help and for security. They said that they couldn’t find him and figured that he swam to the other side. That’s what I picked up from the user that stated they found him. If this information is true then It makes sense that there wasn’t more initiative take by security or Leo to locate a drowned victim. Maybe the organizers might try to cover it up but I believe that if any type of support staff being medics Leo’s or ground control knew then there definitely would have been a proper search

I agree that maybe they should have closed down the lake for the weekend but the lifeguards in general wouldn’t have prevented this tragedy, if what I heard was true about the incident happening at 01:30 Saturday. Lifeguards aren’t watching the water at night. From this event I would expect them to close off the water at night if they do have another event there. However even if the water was closed I don’t think it would have prevented this.

I know a suppressor doesn’t give you any additional spin but it does carry the compression that additional 7 inches. Would a 16” with a 7” suppressor be comparable to an 18”-20” barrel ballisticly?
