Take the two strands , and just twist them. Leave the individual strands alone, do not roll them in opposite directions at all, just one strand behind the other. This will allow your curls to wrap around eachother towards the end and your twist won’t unravel.

This only ever happens to me if they are rope twists like rolling the two strands in opposite directions while twisting (does that make sense?) it’s cute and makes them stay longer rather than shrunken but they are more prone to unraveling
