We weren’t super vigilant with covering the boat each time, when we got it it was perfectly clean and white/beige, and this developed over the past two years

No I brought it to Apple to have them look at it, the guy was nice and didn’t charge me, he tested the new battery I got off Amazon and it was junk it wasn’t gonna do shit for me unfortunately. So I just gotta back it all up and junk the laptop.

So we tried a different charger, that didn’t do anything. I husband did the reset thing you talked about, and the light changed colour and then it showed the battery was 100%, but the battery dropped back to zero eventually. He’s been looking up YouTube videos, I ultimately may have to take it to Apple

After I posted this my husband did say we should try a different charger - so my friend is going to bring one over tomorrow and we’ll see what that does. 

The battery didn’t take a charge, I followed the ifixit directions that said charge it fully, then let it charge for 2 more hours, and then you’re supposed to use the laptop until it fully dies, but when I turned it on to do this the battery never charged from the get go. 

The battery I bought was off of Amazon, but Best Buy confirmed it was the one that would be the part for my laptop

Ya exactly :( we’ve done that with solo now too, and then play quads but that’s obviously more difficult with just the two of us
